FS or Trade: verizon 8830 world blackberry

I have 2 brand new 8830's for verizon. looking to sell them for 400 shipped each or for an iphone plus cash.

if my pricing is off send me a PM and i'll adjust them.

I opened one of them to compared it to my 8800 from att&t. not much diffent except there is no place to insert a sim card and world service is only available through verizon from what i can tell

really? it's next to the micro SD card on the 8800. there is a slot on the 8830 but it's just a dummy location.

i'll look under the battery when i get home.

That isn't what I see.

2 year contract price = $399

- $100 online discount
- $100 mail-in rebate

= $199, but you'd need a new contract and have to **** around with a rebate.

$400 with no contract isn't bad, IMO. Verizon would probably want $600+ for a new one without a contract, as a replacement or something.

I really want one of these, but 400 is a little out of my price range. Let me know if you decide to go down at all!

Not on a Verizon device. Verizon and Sprint use CDMA, no SIM cards.

What you posted above is correct, but for online contract renewals they are also offering $100 additional discount + a free month of service. My wife just got it under this plan.

$400 is average...go on ebay, and they range from $350 - $450 depending on accessories.

uh thanks brainiac The 8830 is a dual CDMA/GSM device, hence the WORLDPHONE part.

The SIM card slot is to the left of the micro SD. Look harder and you'll see it. it's sort of hidden.

i just double checked its not there.... the slot is there but it's just a slot not something that will accept a sim. i spoke to verizon and they said it is a world phone, but you have to activate it through verizon.... in short i don't think its a true gsm phone.

Okay, you're right... This is one of the very few exceptions offered by verizon with a SIM card- even still "The VZW CDMA / GSM combo phones released so far are strictly 900 / 1800 MHz international GSM only................they won't work on North American GSM networks"

What's with the attitude?

There's a SIM card, I had it When you activate international service with Verizon they give you a SIM card for it.

you brought in the attitude, lecturing on something you have no clue about. I chimed in on the thread to help because I owned the phone and had the SIM card. Anyway whatever, the question is answered.
