2005 Yamaha SR230 (23' boat) for sale (Florida)

I know this probably isn't the best place to advertise a boat, but I figured why not give it a shot. You never know. I had a friend at work who was going to purchase it today and he backed out at the last minute. We're looking to purchase something larger, so this one has to go.

Anyway, as the title states:

2005 Yamaha SR230 (purchased new by me)

Twin 140 HP four stroke engines with jet drive propulsion

Seats 10

Maximum speed of approximatley 50 mph

Very fuel efficient

Comes with:

Twin axle trailer (never used except for the initial delivery).

Custom snap-on bow and cockit cover (sunbrella material)

Bimini top with bimini top cover

Cobra-Jet steering nozzle upgrade

Purple plug cleanout plug upgrade

Hyrdro-turf

The boat has been very well maintained. It is stored on a lift in our backyard. Always flushed and cleaned after use. The boat has already had two annual services. Comes with two more transferable additional years of warranty (extended at the time of purchase). It has approximately 50-60 total hours on it.

I don't have any pics on my laptop, so I grabbed these from the yamaha website. It essentially looks the same except mine has a white hull with red/grey graphics and a white interior with red/grey trim. The boat is located in Dunedin, Florida.

If interested, pm me for more details (pics, price, etc).

I'm in the city of Dundedin. It's west of Clearwater on the coast. Nobody ever knows where it is so I just say Clearwater.

DD,

I listed my boat on Ebay and it sold at full asking price (buy-it-now) in 4 days.

This is prime boating season and I am sure you will have the same luck I did as long as your asking price is reasonable. FYI, I priced my boat just a couple percent lower than NADA "low retail".

That's my next step. I just listed it on boat trader last night. I figure I will go with ebay tonight. Was it expensive to list it on ebay? I've never sold a vehicle on there before.

The base price I think was $60, and I upgraded to a couple premium features for about $20 more.

I chose a 7-day auction, which is the most popular. FYI, people will want to see multiple pictures, including the interior. Make sure you post details about how you maintained it, as that will save you numerous emails as well.

Boat question slow speed steering

Hi there,

I was wondering if you could help me out? I already own a boat (Jet Boat Yamaha AR 230) and the boat is really nice but having a hard time liking the steering of the boat. I tried to send you a PM but the forum does not allow it till you have 15 posts and I don't have any questions regarding porsches! I have some questions regarding the steering and if you have some availability would really like to discuss? I really appreciate your advice and hope you were able to sell the boat!!!

You can reach me at 727-823-2622 or please PM me with your e-mail and will be glad to forward my e-mail.

Thanks so much,

-TD

TD:

My advice is to get the cobrajet steering fins. Makes all the difference. The boat is much more manageable at low speeds, and reverse is easy. Very simple install and they're not expensive.

From TD:

Thanks so much for your response. I saw that you had those installed on there and was thinking about installing those but wanted to get some feedback from USERS of the product. Also I was wondering where did you get the "purple plugs" - do you remember? Again thanks for the advice!!!

I don't remember where I got the plugs.

However.... here is a site where you can find out anything you ever wanted to know about those jet boats. It's the yamaha jet boating equivalent of 6speed:
