Awesome. You are posting every lens that I have been looking into! How much did you buy this lens for new? It seems like some sort of mythical creature or something but I can't find much info on this particular lens. The only relevent lens that comes up is the 17-40mm f/4 lens.

Haha. It is fairly rare I guess. I paid around $1500 for it and it was well worth it. It is an awesome piece of glass and did extremely well in tests. Canon did come out with a newer model. They tried to improve on it and were only able to make a 16-35 version. Both are exceptionally sharp. You can decide if you need that extra 1mm on the wide side.

No, I'm sorry to say. Great lens...it would have rounded out my collection perfectly. As much as I love digital format and what it does for focal length of telephotos, I hate the way it loses the wideangle perspective. Most of my favorite shots were made with wideangles.
