Thumbs up 997 Turbo S

Will Porsche make a 997 Turbo S. If so how much h.p. will it have, when would it arrive and how much extra would it be over the standard Turbo. Thx my lease on my 4s cab is up in 2008...

I have not heard word. It is still early in 997 turbo production run for an announcement of an S, it is normally done later. Porsche probably will not offer such a car until the GT2 has had a good run in the dealers. I wouldn't be surprised if one materializes in a few years though.

The S won't be out in 2008, that's for sure.

Porsche releases a 'S' model at the last year of production for certain models. For example, the 996 Turbo S was brought out in 05, last year of that model. For 2006 Porsche released a Cayenne Turbo S which was the last model year before they changed body styles.

Do not expect a 997 Turbo S until 2009 or so

Most likely will be about 15-25K more that a standard Turbo coupe. Will have about 515-535HP and standard PCCBs.

so OC then its unwise to wait for S as the new model will follow the next year. sounds like a bad investment even as a lease.

Well as a lease the bank is dealing with the depreciation of the car. Depending on where they put the residual value for the car.

I would get a car sooner than later. Are you specifically looking for a new Turbo coupe or cab?

would like to get a turbo cab but I have a little less than 1 1/2 years left on my lease. I thought timing would be good since turbo cabs are prob. getting $10,000 over sticker now...is this right? or should I just wait for 998 but I heard that might not be till 2012..?

If you can find an available Turbo cab dealers will most likely want over for them.

What I can do for you if you like... I do have 2 more Turbo Cab orders available and it is not being built until March or April of 2008. The car would not be here until mid-end April or May. (depending on the build date) You would be a LOT closer to the end of your lease and can order anything you like.

I can also give you some more ideas if you want to get out of your lease early.

I am going to PM you my e-mail and phone number. Call me if you have any questions. I will help any fellow 6speeder out as much as possible

they release the S when they need to get rid of parts inventory...it is analogous to a "value meal" in that the seperate options would cost more than the S package

By the same the "S" comes out the 997tt will be near the end of its run. Then you start wondering if you should just wait till the next gen comes out. Endless cycle...I would just get what's available at the time.
