Like many others in the UK, I love the look and sound of the V8V but feel it to be underpowered for its price and in comparison to the competition. I would certainly buy one if it could be modified to give more torque (in particular) and a more aggressive delivery at the top end (in keeping with the sound) without having to rob a bank to pay for the upgrades!
I would also be very grateful for any details you could send me regarding your products.
Many thanks

Ian - Very good points and question. We do seem to have a few folks over here working hard to come up w/ some mods. Reasonably priced is still a question - they are all talking about final products in about a month. If the prices are in line w/ what mods cost for Porsches then I think they will have some hot sales. Of course question will be how many sales can they make - I believe there were 48 V8 Vantages made in 06; 3500 in '07 and an estimate of 3000 in '08. It would be hard to imagine most folks not wanting some sort of mod (cats/exhaust/air intake/ECU) - seems the only real ***** about the V8V is more power. Tuners can turn a profit w/ order Qty's of 20 - get orders at 100 and you will see prices drop. Can 2-3 tuners, and they can compete with these quantities, and now we will all be happy. Keep checking - this seems to be the best forum to find out about V8V mods ... IMHO.

AND yes I agree - $13,200 is a non starter. Quicksilver exhaust at $4,000 is to high too - it is not even made of titanium !!! If the V8V is going to compete w/ the 997S then factory and tuners had better start ... right now per costs, the V8V is really competing w/ the 997TT ... and that starts a whole new "can of worms". Anyway I am still a big fan ... bring on the AM GT2 race car !!!

I guess what I am asking is it is one thing to read their web site and another to live there and have experience with their reputation. Also is this the Paramount from the Porsche scene ?

I found Paramount from a web search, otherwise I'm largely unfamiliar with them.
I've had an exchange of e-mails that was both helpful and apparently knowledgeable (no outlandish claims / seemed to understand how and why an engine works). If you have a look around their site, they do seem to do a lot of Porsche upgrades - whether they're the 'Porsche Paramount' you refer to, I'm not sure.
One thing that does look promising (based on the statements on their site) is the fact that all their work is fully backed-up by before and after dyno runs. They also seem happy for you to be there, check what they're doing (I'd be on to intake air temps and coolant temps like a shot) and discuss things with them as they work.
Other than that, I have no other independent endorsements / criticism.

My main requirement would be keeping the same stock sound or very close to it. I would not want to lose that.
Which one is this that you speak of?
