Saving for a 09 Vantage

Hi everyone, I am so deeply in love with the newly ramped up 09 Vantage. I am hoping in two years (2011), I can get the 09 model for $70k. I see some 07 (two years old) right now for $70-75k. Do you guys think that because they beefed up the engine and added the sports suspension, that in two years, the 09 will be out of my $70k price range?

they might retain their value better than the 4.3L AMV8V's because of the improved interior, larger engine, etc. but there's really no way to be 100% sure. just save up and hope for the best! it might be important to note that because of the slump in the global economy, less cars are being bought. in two years, this might change and demand (and price) could go up.

I dont think in 2 years the economy will be back up...maybe though. But I think you're right, all the improvements might make it a higher sale than the 07-08.

I saw mine on both cars.com and Ebay motors. If you're patient, I think you can find '07's for less than 70.

I think in two years the economy will be better and the prices will be higher for limited production cars like the AM. The time to buy is now even if it is a 2006 so you can get a deal and use it as a trade in two years.

gametheory, really? I have not seen any 07 under $70k. I like meteorite on red, but that is a tough combo to find. Most 07 with low miles under 10k are at least $75-85k.

Good question robbie, let's just hope in two years, I triple what I make now.....

That or find a sugar mama who is into cars as well!

But comparing prices on two year old Vantages now, and taking into account what folks have stated with the newly upgraded 09's, I am guessing a 09 in 2011 will cost around $85-90k. Let's hope it won't hold its residual that high though......

I think you are wrong in waiting. If the economy turns around and people have more money for toys the value will go up not down. This is a hand made car that is made in small numbers. There might be some good deals on MB or Porsches but they are mass produced and a back log is forming that will keep the values down for awhile.

This is just my 2 cents, nothing affense!
The value of a toy will always goes down but never goes up, uless we are talking about cars like F40, F50, Mclaren F1, or Enzo ...... it as simple as supply and demand. The summer is coming and the cars are moving. Due to the current economic, the finanical structure has been re-structure. It's going to be an unknown market for the used cars. Especially, there are going to about 1500 dealers are going to either cloesed, selling used car, or switch brands.
There is no best time to buy a toy. It's all about when you want it.

Pitbullsl500.... looks like you have been upgrade from SL to Vantage. how much do you miss the hardtop conv. ? Congrats for your new Vantage.
