DB9 Oil Change?

Anybody does this on their own?

Drain access is no problem, but the filter (accessible only from the top) seems like a *****. You obviously have to get the driver's side air inlet tube out of the way, at a minimum (and maybe some other stuff ??).

And what the heck are those clamps on the air inlet tube? I've never seen anything like that. How are those loosened?

I thought my Jag V12 XJS was a pain...

Hi. How do you exactly access the drain bolt? Do you have to remove all the sheet metal or is there a hole in it? thanks

You can access the drain bolt of DB series cars from below just remove the aluminum panels on the undercarriage ... In case of the sport pack you will have some additional aero bits on the paneling... Once you do that the plug is there. Removing the filter is by far the hardest part. Remove the tb and go from up top to get to it.

You will have to remove the metal belly pan on the bottom of the car to get access to the drain bolt. I recommend you have two people so one can help remove the other end when its time to slide it out. Its a torx bit as well. I don't remember the exact size but buy a set at Harbor Freight and its bound to have the correct one. As for the oil filter removal its not all that bad. Just remove the throttle bottle (held in by 4 bolts) and do NOT forget to disconnect the electrical connector for the TPS sensor on the bottom. Once the throttle bottle is out of the way reach down to losen the filter by hand. Let it drain for a good 15 mins once you crack it loose to minimize clean up.

I'm working on a oil change DIY doc but haven't had time to finish it up.
