four doors.

I have always owned both Aston Martins and Porsches and will always retain both. [Right brain vs Left Brain] But look at the comparison photos of the Panamera and Astons new Rapide. Both new 4 doors in production. Does this seem to be a no brainer or what?

IMO Aston Rapide is the best looking sport sedan!

I too live in both worlds. I had a cayenne in '04 because at the time there was little to choose from in the world of sporty SUV's. The style kind of grew on me. The problem with the panamera is that there is already a series of better looking vehicles in its class that are quite frankly much more attractive and perform as well. The Rapide is by far the most appealing. If money is no issue, it is a no brainer.

Take a look. I have a thread on the Porsche Panamera site. The Porsche guys say its a better car than the Rapide [no real justification for such a comment] its less expensive [until you option it out] and its unique looking as the Rapide is only a 4 door DB9 [like thats a bad thing] Here is my response to "Unique looking"....

paragongja is infamous around these parts
It's not apples to apples. I will say however, after being inside the Panamera, the interior is quite nice. Not Aston nice, but much better than the exterior.

I to sat in the Panamera and thought that the interior was very nice. Although I did feel that the best feature of the interior was that you could not see the exterior.

I think Porsche would have been better served with a 928 GT car. I think that is a better market. They could have kept style cues from the rest of the line without the awkwardness. If they really needed a 4 door car, I think they should have started a completely fresh concept. The features of the other vehicles really didn't transfer well. It will be interesting to see what happens under the VW regime.
