Rock flew up off the highway and cracked my windshield...looks like it will need to be totally replaced. Got a quote from the dealer of $1250.00 plus labor. Anyone replace one before who can confirm or deny this amount?

 

If it's your first time, file a claim with insurance. You're allowed one winshield crack per year and you shouldn't have to pay for it. Doesn't affect your premium.

 

Same thing in Florida. Insurance pays 100%.

 

Here in IL you have to pay your deductible.

 

deductaible will probably still be less than the 1500+ this is going to cost him.

 

I thought windshield replacements are zero deductible by law everywhere to encourage owners to replace what amounts to a potential safety hazard. If there is/was a deductible, people wouldn't bother until it became a crisis.
