Vantage 4.7 Mods

Has anyone modified their 4.7? I was wondering if there was any gains from exhaust/cats with or with out ECU reprogramming. I can't seem to find any info on 4.7 ecu mods. Royal Excellence does offer a kit which they say gets the car to 477 HP. That would bring the car to the 100 HP/Liter figure. I would also think that the performance would be close to the V12 considering the weight. Any info or thoughts would be appreciated.

I would think opening the air box & filters along w/ 200 cell cats and more free flowing exhaust would help the 4.7 as it does the 4.3 ...

All of the hardware (cats, exhaust) will fit the 4.7 and produce equivalent improvements. Don't know about other companies but RSC has the ability to tune the 4.7's ECU with great results albeit not quite as dramatic as the 4.3... 477 sounds a bit optimistic for NA TBH

After driving a new 4.7 this past weekend (see my post) I cannot imagine what a modified 4.7 would be like....probably like using a 50 caliber for home protection while living in a thin walled apartment.

Here is the link to royal excellence. Look at mods for 4.7 Vantage. The step 3 is most like the RSC Mods. What do you think you get out of cats, exhaust ecu and filters? I would think that if you start at 420 HP, 40-50 Hp should be resonable based on65 HP gain in the 4.3.

Just took a look. Yeah, add the air filters in there for another 8-10BHP is probably reasonable. It's possible, I just don't know for sure myself. I know AM left more power on the table with the mapping on the 4.3 than the 4.7, but then we have also done mapping for 4.7s and customers have been pleased with the results so....

We've got some performance filters for the Vantage, just about ready - will be putting up an initial buy deal on 6speed soon, probably 20% off for the first 20 sets or something like that. Be interested to see what peoples impressions are.

Thanks for the link. Wish they listed the prices.

My experience has been that it is hard to get much horsepower from bolt ons and reprogramming. I have bought everything except for the cats, but I realistically don't think I have added more than 20 hp.

you should get dyno'd, if that's the case. even Prodrive's power pack, or whatever it's called, is supposed to add 40 hp.
