Mine is an 07 V8V and I only have the regular mirror installed without any option. Have anyone tried installing the "Gentex mirror with auto dimming and homelink option"? I understand that they make some mirror for oem manufacturers and in their compatability page they list Aston Martin. Any input greatly appreciated, I can live without the homelink but the addition of no glare from auto dimming like in most vehicles would be great!
I tried unsuccessfully for three hours to program the Aston OEM in-the-mirror remote to my Chamberlin Garage Door Openers using every possible programming trick and combination and spent at least an hour on the web looking for solutions. Gave up and just use the little cruddy remote that came with the openers now. '07 Vantage.

Don't know where all these dealers are getting their information, but what they told you was bunk. My 07 did not come with a dimming homelink mirror. However, I can assure you that the wiring to install the mirror option is indeed there. It is also documented in the wiring diagrams. How do I know? Because I bought a Gentex mirror through Amazon and installed it myself and connected it to the factory harness. Gentex makes the dimming mirror for almost every single automotive brand.
The mirror I used is the newer generation that works better and faster than the one Aston uses. I will warn you, however, that installation is definitely not for the timid. The main reason is that the aftermarket mirrors are designed for a windshield mount and I wanted to use the nice metal Aston mounting bracket. I had to essentially break the OEM plain mirror off the bracket and fabricate a new spring-tensioned mounting tube to adapt it to the mirror. I even covered the tube in stitched Alcantara to match the headliner, because I'm OCD that way.
Additionally, I rewired the factory connector to match up with the one that came with the mirror.
If you want to go the factory OEM route, the Aston mirror is about $400US IIRC an is pretty much a plug and play upgrade.
BTW: I also have a Chamberlain garage door opener and can guarantee you that Aston and all Gentex mirrors with Homelink can be programmed to use their rolling code system.

I wish you were closer to the Wash DC area, I'd ply you with promises of free booze and cheap women to come over and do mine. I'm pretty good on setting stuff up like that and I struggled for hours before giving up. I even had my daughter up on the ladder pressing the garage door program buttons while I was in the car to run the program sequence as per the manual. Nothing worked.
^^^^ Since I was home alone at the time, I had to make a 10ft extension wire for the mirror harness so that I could hold the mirror in my hand and program it while I stood on a ladder pressing the buttons on the back of the garage door opener. While doing this, I accidentally pressed the wrong button on the opener and wound up screwing-up the calibration of the auto-reversing obstruction detection and the door wouldn't close. It took me another 20 minutes to get that sorted.
My 2012 V8 Vantage did not have one as spec. I had the dealer install an OEM one as a condition on purchase. No problems whatsoever. It may not be the same on an '08, but I seriously doubt that is the case. Ask a different dealer--yours is feeding you a line of crap!
@DrCollie, I've had trouble in the past with rolling codes.... the manuals aren't written well and don't highlight the fact that you have to go through the initial programming routine as if you had a static code opener. Then after that, switch to the rolling code procedure. If you skip straight to the rolling code procedure, it doesn't work. Hope that helps!
I have a 2013 V8 Vantage. I purchased the auto-dimming rearview mirror with "Homelink" garage buttons. After two attempts, I located the connector, hidden behind the dome of the reading lights and wrapped in a rubber pad. I removed it and connected it directly to the new rearview mirror. Everything went well; the most challenging part was putting the light dome back in place to adjust it correctly behind the metal clips.
Well, after finishing everything, I noticed the rearview mirror isn’t getting power. I’m not sure what’s happening. Before assuming that the rearview mirror is defective—which I doubt—I’d like to know where the fuse that powers the "Homelink" rearview mirror is located.
Does anyone know where the fuse that powers the Homelink rearview mirror is located?
