Optimization admisson air Vantage
It appears that these are simply directing air to the filtered air boxes.
That is what I thought.
I got curious, so I went and dropped one of the factory air boxes out of an Aston Martin Vantage we have here right now to better view it.
See below;

This passage here is where the MAF housing couples (i.e. the passage on top)...

Inside the MAF passage...

Here you can see the frontal air box passage. I'm assuming this is where these ducts are directed into?

Inside this passage...

If this is the case, the conical filter element is still in place.

That paired with some Howe Racing ducts behind the opening would really offer some air flow;
No, the filters are AFTER my new entrance
If that's the case, there is unmetered air entering the engine, as the MAF sensors are still directly off the air boxes. This would cause major issues with drivability and engine safety (i.e. incoming air without fuel to supplement = lean condition).
1st: I do not want to change by the front bumper because I prefer the original
2nd: I prefer my air intake is done in the same tube as the original so as not to create air flow problems that may be inconsistent, and the air comes in the same direction
This is not the same car. I say that any objection, I'm not selling anything
I prefer my solution for two reasons:
1st: I do not want to change by the front bumper because I prefer the original
2nd: I prefer my air intake is done in the same tube as the original so as not to create air flow problems that may be inconsistent, and the air comes in the same direction

That's simply my opinion on the matter, I'm not arguing with you or calling your opinion incorrect.

The question I pose, is why not bypass the factory tubing pre-air box, and shorten the air travel distance substantially? I'd greatly prefer to have the air feed directly from the bumper to the air box, as opposed to it traveling from the grill through tubing into the factory tubing.

Perhaps it is simply not to look too close to the road (dirt, gravel, paper, water ...)
