Help Checking Out a Vantage in Orlando

Hi 6speeders,
It's time to consider a move from the Turbo to an AM V8V. I'm located in Toronto. Got one scoped at AM of Orlando and have been communicating with salesman, Philip Halstead. Is anyone located close to Orlando who can have a look at the car and test drive before I consummate a deal?
Thanks,
Marv

Firstly... Turbo S... Awesome. One of the cars I'd have in the garage for a lottery win!

I suspect someone might be along shortly so not here to offer a test drive, but just to say that I speak to lots of AM dealers on a regular basis and these guys have always struck me as being very straight and honest. Their parts department has helped us out a couple of times as well so only good things to say about them!

Philip is a great guy to deal with...very knowledgeable. The service manager, Derek Fisk, is also a great person to know. I get my AM serviced there. I only get down to Orlando every few months, though.

They’re good folks over there at AM Orlando; they’ll treat you right.

Marv,

I live in Windermere, which is basically Orlando. The dealer is about 15 minutes from my house. I've been there several times to see/drive an Aston Martin or Lotus. Everyone there is fantastic! They even let the tech take me for a test drive to show me what the Lotus can really do. And because he knows sooo much about the cars.

If you want me to go check out a car, let me know. And if you really twist my arm, I guess I could drive it.

Seattle_sun,

Sorry, I cannot reply to PM's as I don't have enough posts yet.

The car you asked me to look at has already been sold to a gentleman from Toronto. He actually asked me to do the same thing you did. If his deal falls through, I will gladly give you the same report I gave him. The car is in great shape, though. He's gonna be happy.

Let me know if there's any others you'd like me to look over. They have some beautiful cars there.

Hey Charles, thanks anyway!

Wow, I just talked to them yesterday! Oh well, I hope Marv enjoys the car!

I saw the car on Thursday. Marv's isn't picking the car up until early August.

Flying to Orlando late Friday

Quick update, guys.
Picking up the car early Saturday morning with my wife for a spirited but savoury (that's Canadian spelling) return trip home. Plan to cross the border with full paperwork on Monday (a week today).
My thanks to Charles for taking the time to see the car and reassure me.
More thanks out to Philip Halstead at AM of Orlando for providing all of the answers and making this purchase simple. The dealership has done the DRL change and obtained the Recall Clearance Letter with ease.
I'll report back with more details when (if?) I cross the border and return home.
How much is cab fare from the Lewiston Bridge to Toronto?
Cheers,
Marv

Marv,

I still can't reply to your PM's because I don't have enough posts, yet...you need to have 10. And when I recently tried to reply to your email, I got a message saying that it was "delayed", whatever that means.

So, I'll respond here for everyone to read. Don't worry too much about meeting for breakfast. If it works out, it works out. I will definitely come to the dealership to meet you and your wife, however. What time will you be arriving there?

Charles, Congrats on the new car!!! Is your recall leter a printout from AM database or did you get the letter from AM in Europe?

With the hassle of shipping I have thought about driving my 09 Vantage home but it's a really long way!!!! Have fun on your drive.
