My impression of the RSC Sports Exhaust
My impression of the RSC Sports Exhaust
So, I was torn about what exhaust to get. I was running around with the fuse pulled and I did like the stock exhaust sound, but it definitely felt more sluggish with the fuse pulled. I called the guys at RSC and they were very helpful in their suggestions. Mainly for the fact that they were so accessible, I choose them over Quicksilver. They even told me that if I wasn't happy with the sound, I could exchange it for another model.
Comparing the stock to the RSC is kind of a shocker. The stock is huge, heavy, and not very attractive (sounds like a bad date). When my mechanic placed the RSC in, you can really appreciate how much lighter and smaller the RSC is.
The Sports exhaust is their middle exhaust in terms of sound. On startup, the sound is louder and more raspy. During regular driving, it sounds very similar to the stock with the fuse pulled; however in the higher revs (above 4500), it is louder with a very nice roar. Although it is hard for me to compare, I believe it is a little higher pitched than the Quicksilver.
There is no resonance or drone and cruising at highway speed, it is unobtrusive. You can easily talk or listen to the stereo with no problems.
In terms of performance, the car definitely feels more responsive, but this is probably a combination of the exhaust and having the fuse pulled out previously. It's definitely not as big of a jump like when I added an Europipe to my turbo.
I'm very happy with the exhaust and would recommend you looking at RSC if you are considering an aftermarket.

Glad to hear you like the RSC exhaust!
I've got the RSC Touring exhaust and cats coming for my Vanatge. It's there quietest of the three but when installed with there cats it should be a bit louder then the Sport exhaust and have more power

Cats are definitely the way to go, but I'm still under warranty and I'm afraid that if anything goes on the engine, they would point to the cats as a possible cause.
From talking to RSC, cats with Touring will be a little louder than the Sports. I think you'll like it!

FYI - I've had the RSC 200 cats & "quieter" exhaust on my car for about 2 1/2 yrs - no quality issues or drone sound at all. I like a louder Vantage exhaust - tried all combos w/ 200 cells and went w/ the quiet due to the difference in cats. They make a big difference in air flow and of course sound. Also opened up my air box w/ drilled holes and RSC filters - just to help air flow in and out.

When we played w/ the various RSC exhausts they had not yet "named" them. I ended up w/ the "quiet exhaust" - not sure the current name - yes the others were quite louder. I found 200 vs 600 cell cats is a big difference w/ sound - my system is still louder than w/ fuse 22 or exh. tubes pulled.

Thanks Stuart - so I have the "Sports" ... again I like a nice sound and this is louder than "open" stock but you can still talk on the cell and enjoy the stereo ... Supersport was too loud w/ 200 cells IMHO
