V8v vs. E46m3
V8v vs. E46m3

so he wants to go against my 2007 4.3 v8v
what do you guys think which one is faster ?

I have both and driving back to back, the M3 felt faster down low vs the stock Vantage. The M3 has very explosive throttle response which leads to the feeling, plus it is easy to drive fast.
Realistically, he will probably beat you down low but you will reel him in up top. Alternatively, you can go from a 2nd or 3rd gear rolling start in which case you'll have the advantage.
Driving the M3 now, I'm surprised at how slow it feels, especially up top. But this is a race I'd like to see...I often wondered exactly how it would play out.

Typical juvenile BMW M3 owner. As an Aston owner, I surprised you care.
No idea K, but I am curious as to the answer. Aston's are less about pure performance, but the Vantage is a sports car (although others would argue grand tourer).
If you look at Nurburgring test numbers, the V8V has a big 19 second lead...8:03 vs 8:22, both done by Sport Auto driver Horst Von Saurma...probably due to the high speed advantage. Kept in its power band, this car can move, although when you see that that time beats the e92 M3, the R8, and the M6, it makes you wonder if that's not a little optimistic. The e46 M3 CSL posted a 7:50, but that was probably mostly tires as it was on Michelin Sport Cups.

That you care whether or not an M3 can beat your Aston. An Aston is so much more than 'performance'. If performance is the sole measure of why you buy a particular car, then an Aston is not the right choice.
ahem, typical juvenile m3 owner checking in here.
Ripe for the flaming too, i'm 19.
OP, just give him a run and see how it plays out.
I only ask you post a vid or two.
It's natural to compare and want to know you cars place in the car performance universe. I love hearing how the SC Vantages compare against Lambos PTT's and others the same way the NA cars compare against other small V8's. The bottom line is that there is always someone faster. There is always a tweak or mod that changes everything. The cool thing for me is that as an Aston owner, I can always say that my car has more style even if it's not faster.
dude take a chill pill . so if i wonder which car is faster does that necessarily mean that performance is the sole measure . its a simple Q on which one is faster .
relax man
