Are you sure about CBE ? AM Tampa Bay ... I was told that was not Carbon Black edition ... just the AM demo car ... in Black on Black ... V12V have lot's of carbon in stock form, is a bit confusing. Dash was not carbon but Piano on that car, as an example ... what ever edition - it was sure a great drive !

The shadow paint in the wheels are black on the CB cars and dark gray on the others. The interior is piano wood on the CB cars. I was told that the demo's were all CB.

Thats what Chris said.
CF door pull bars, Alcantera wheel and dash and seat inserts, B&O stereo, Carbon Black BMW paint, Carbon Brakes, Special Wheels, 515 HP.

To me it felt as powerful as a 911 Turbo. And sounds much better.

To me it was nearly perfect, except for that dam 6 speed. They have to make an auto for me to buy one. And drop the price $100k.

I wasn't aware of a hp boost over the standard V12 that makes 510 hp. Unless that changed recently, the carbon black edition makes the same hp.

Why don't you like the 6-speed? I think it's great, although I wouldn't mind if they came up with a nice dual clutch or an effective version of the sport shift.

Well, have to ask the salesman. But it did have piano all the way down the console and wheels are gloss black and it had the carbon side strakes, and it was BMW Carbon Black.
I would have thought they would adapt the db9 automatic to this car. That would go along with the V12 engine and that would be my choice.

I'm sure you're right that it's the carbon black edition, but I mean that I'm pretty sure all Vantage V12 models make 510 hp, not 515. I should have been more clear about that in my previous post.

As for the automatic, I'd say it's not going to happen. AM wants to position this as a sports car, not a grand tourer, and the automatic doesn't fit into the equation. If you want an automatic V12 grand tourer, you have to go for the DB9 or DBS. Less sporty, more for cruising.

Then it might be a Carbon Black Edition ... I asked and he said no ... we might have miss understood each other ... I did not mean to add confusion in this thread.

I'M not the expert on the Vantage V12 but I have been investing most of my car time in it in anticipation. First, My wife has a Carbon Black BMW. It's not the same color. AM gets touchy about this. BMW's carbon black is more blue. In fact, in the sun, it looks like midnight blue. The AM color takes like a 100 hour to paint and some crazy number of coats. I thought the same thing but was corrected by an AM rep. The V12 engine has been around a while and was engineered for 6 speed and touchtronic trans. From what I understand, it is not a snap-on exchange that can be made between transmissions. Finally, the V12V is being promoted as AM's "most focused sports car" The notion of an auto in this car is contrary to it's design. If there as a true F1 (a.la.a Ferrari Scud.) engineered from the beginning, it would make sense. Having said that, the 6-speed in the car is excellent. I am really looking forward to having the third petal even after 3 years with the paddles.
