"New" V8 Vantage Owner!

I just finalized the purchase of a 2007 V8 Vantage and is en route from Florida as we speak!

I just wanted to thank everyone in the forum for all the invaluable advise over the last few months. This has been a very long journey and everyone's input has allowed me to make the most informed decision on a fantastic vehicle! So thank you again!

I was originally thinking of getting a 2009, but after I analyzed it over and over in my head, I felt a 2007 would be my best bet for now, especially with it being my first exotic car. I plan to keep this for roughly 3-4 years anyway, at which point I'll probably get the redesigned model, pre-owned DBS, or the V12.

It's a 2007 coupe, Tungsten/Obsidian, 6MT, fully-loaded, and with only 3,800 miles. I'll probably purchase the extended warranty as well. I also convinced the dealer to throw in the clear tail lamps, which they also installed for me. Since I live in CA, I used AiM Mobile Inspections to perform a 150-point inspection of the vehicle, which they did an amazing job. They found every little blemish, took pictures, gathered service records, etc. The minimal blemishes they did find, the dealer gladly replaced/fixed.

Now, time to look into some aerodynamic, performance, and AM upgrades.

Once it arrives and I've had the chance to detail it, I'll post some pics.

I'm pretty certain I overpaid, but it was the best 2007 I could find and the dealer knew it. Let's just say I paid around $80K. I'm sure I could easily have found one with more miles in the low $70K's, but this was just too nice to pass up. I passed on a 2008 a few months ago that I regretted, so I didn't want to pass up another opportunity.

Congrats! Been holding out for a 2008 V8V but they seem rare, especially in a 6-MT coupe....perhaps more will hit the market once the factory warranty expires? Anyways, enjoy the new toy!
Let me know if you come across any good shops in the area...
btw - check out wawanesa for insurance in california, they quoted me something close to $100/month on a 2006 V8V (not sure you can beat that...and the service is great)

I'll probably take it to Los Gatos Luxury Cars for the initial service and may look for an indy shop for subsequent services.

One thing I don't really like are the red calipers. Anyone willing to trade?

Keep Us Informed

Congratulations, and please keep us updated on the experiences with your car, as I'm very interested. I read your post and realize I'm in a similar position. I've been looking for a pre-owned V8V for about 2 years. I've almost pulled the trigger on a couple of different cars, but for one reason or another held off....guess I'm just selective. I work a lot of hours, therefore, I don't get much time to shop and research. This website has been extremely valuable in assisting me, as I'm very appreciative of the Aston owners who try to be helpful and share their experiences. Good luck.....Chris

With that low mileage it would be hard to go wrong. Let me know if you are interested in tracking your new AM-- We are neighbors in the south bay and there are lots of good track opportunities nearby. Los Gatos Autos has treated me well with my 2007 MT Vantage. Feel free to contact me directly. Good luck.

Unless the kinks were not worked out....would get a year extension for the warranty

These cars are great as the miles pile on!
