front license plate
Here's the one I ran on my Boxster, sourced from Top Flight Corvette on the web, its the ZR1 plate adapter turned upside-down and secured with 2-sided tape. No holes to drill. I looked at the Vantage last night, this should work just as well. I also had the optional painted frame that Top Flight sells, the GM color white was so close to Carrera White from Porsche that no one could tell the difference. I'll be getting one of these for my Vantage as I don't care for the offset look of the Mower Axle product.

I know DC and VA are pretty strict on front tags, MD can be also, I don't have one on my DB9, GT2, or SL55 AMG...but I do have one on my daily driver. I've only been pulled over twice with the Porsche for no front tags, the fine was $35 If I recall correctly, I got one fine and one warning. I carry the front tag in the car and show the officer the tag.
I just installed the Mower Axle front holder... can't say enough good things about it.. here are the highlights:
- My first impression was how solid the pieces were... no plastic in the kit.. all the parts are solid aluminum/metal.
- Larry at Mower Axle was great. Right after I ordered, he emailed me a thank you note and an estimated time when the kit would ship. Shipped it fast and customer service was perfect throughout.
- The trademark Aston grille was being hidden by the factory license plate holder... but now that the plate is offset and lower, the distinctive grille is not blocked and much more pronounced.
- Overall, highly, highly recommended if you have to have a front tag on!

Mower Deck Axle Co. License Plate
I bought the front plate from Mower Deck Axle Co. for my 2009 DB9. It arrived quickly and was super easy to put on (took 5 minutes). It looks really good (and centered). This is a nice option for an Aston Martin. I highly recommend it.

I'm not a big fan of the off-center look but I guess choices are quite limited so I may just end up going this route as well for my Vantage.

Any way you look at it a front tag on any exotic looks horrific. I have never put one on any of my exotics and never will. I would rather just pay the ticket or have the front plate with me and show the officer and get a warning.
I always think the front license plate looks best at the oem place. The side license plate holder make the car look ugly. Used to have the side plate for my m3 as was worried about drilling the holes. Now I realize wish I had drilled the holes
I agree with Sunir. I got one ticket for not having a plate, $70. You can look at it a couple ways. It can be an excuse for LE to pull you over, but it can also be a secondary offense. When I got nabbed for not having a plate, he really pulled me over because I was driving too fast, although he didn't have his radar on to prove it. He got to ticket me for something and that made him feel better. I guess I can live with that.

, as Clarkson would say!
