2006 AM V8 Vantage Manhiem Auction Prices
Looking to maybe purchase my first AM V8 Vantage!
Don't really want to spend right now but got the itch and for the right price would take the plunge!
Can anyone advise me on what I'd be looking to pay at auction for a well kept 2006 AM V8 Vantage with 20-30K miles?
Will probably keep the car 12-18 months and sell! Don't want to take to much of a bath so looking to buy right!
Thanks, and hope to join the family soon!
All the Best, Russ

the lowest you will be able to pick one up is prob in mid 60s wholesale ... however, I've seen a few of these vantages in the mid 60s ... they are in ROUGH shape ...

on second thought.....I'm itching for a 4.7......I have the sport pack upgrade with wheels, power pack, quicksilber exhaust and clear tail lights. 26k miles.
All dealer stamps for each year.

mid to low 60s, but again ... you don't want to touch those ... after proper (neglected) maintenance is done, you are looking at 70k again. By spending a bit more you can actually spend less (ironically enough)

I saw an 07 vantage with less than 25k miles on ebay for 64k. No idea what the condition of it was. Had some godawful Cor rims that looked convex (as opposed to concave)
Sorry if its someone's on here. I don't mean to offend anyone, just my opinion.

You can definitely do better on price from private sellers. I've felt out a few...I can tell you the above seller is willing to take $63K (but not $60). He claims he was offered $62K as a trade-in. If that's true, he's putting an awful lot of effort into getting another $1K out of it. Other 2007s from private sellers with 15-20K miles have sold in the low to mid 60s. I hope this helps anyone who is looking.
There's obviously some risk in buying from a private seller, but you can always get an independent inspection. Buying from a dealer when it's in another state doesn't make a lot of sense to me--you pay more, and then you have little recourse if there's a problem.

I assume you mean this. I agree about the wheels. He's been listing that car repeatedly for several months. I wanted to write to him to say "lose those wheels and go back to stock!" He actually is selling without the wheels now, although he didn't take new pictures. It may be a good car, but his ad and pictures don't do it justice.

Not to get too detailed, but it matters what state you're in as well. Where I live in Illinois, if I buy a used car from a dealer, I pay 8.75% sales tax. If I buy from a private seller, it's much less (not a straight percentage), and it maxes out at $1500. For the 2007 V8 Vantage I just bought, thats a savings of nearly $4000.

In a similiar situation and appreciate all that I've learned from reading. Currently have an 09 BMW 335i and looking to move up to something special like a DB9.. Can afford an 08, 09 and a 10...would like warrenty as I'm worried about reliability. Nearest repair would be 400 miles away.

here in canada you pay FULL tax on any used vehicle purchase. 13 %. But hey, people on welfare who don't want to lift a finger to help themselves get free healthcare. And someone like me who pays a sh*tload of tax (and I don't even make that much money to begin with) has to wait 7 months to get an MRI for a fractured knee. Everybody wins!
