Need opinions on AM Power Upgrade / RSC Cats combo
So I finally got around to test driving an '07 V8 Vantage this weekend. What a thrill! It may not be as fast in a straight line as my Maserati GranSport, but we were taking some turns at speeds that would have left my car in a ditch facing the wrong way! It just feels so much more nimble.
I would probably prefer an '09 but there seems to be a dearth of available vehicles, especially manual transmission equipped coupes. So I've been contemplating some available upgrades for the '07. I like the idea of combining the AM power upgrade with RSC 200 cell cats. I don't really want to change the rest of the exhaust since I do like the sound of the stock '07. So my question is this... What would this combo do to the sound and performance of the car? What about also adding the RSC air filters?
Many thanks.

I have the power pack upgrade from AML and Larini system (cats, exhaust, etc.). I have no problem running with 2009-2010 V8V. There is a noticeable difference.
Still wish I had a bit more torque, but that is something that we have to live with driving the 4.3L normally aspirated cars. Stuart is much better about discussing the benefits of just the cats vs. the entire system. I think you leave a great deal of power on the table without changing the total exhaust.

Why not do the exhaust eventually, when youre used to the powerpack upgrade? I love my exhaust, sooooo happy my car came with it. Very loud and is supposed to add about 20hp. Maybe thats a mod you can do in a few months after the powerpack?
As mentioned, I really like the sound of the stock exhaust and the fact that it's pretty subtle until you reach higher RPMs. I don't mind a little additional volume, but really don't want to lose that dualistic character. I do, however, want a power increase. From what I understand, the Aston power upgrade coupled with 200 cell cats SHOULD provide more power and a bit more volume, but without much of a change in exhaust sound/character. Can anyone confirm or deny that fact?

They will definitely add power, but if you're looking an unobtrusive upgrades, also get an RSC flash
Isn't the RSC flash pretty much the same as the AM one included with the power upgrade? Forgot to mention that this would be for a manual transmission.
