Interior Dressing

Interior Dressing
Can anyone recommend a good interior dressing for the vantage? I've tried Lexol, Formula 303, Doc Bailey's leather conditioner and they just don't absorb well. In fact, they look worse cause they increase streaks and creases in the black leather. Any suggestions or is the vantage interior best left alone by wiping with a damp microfiber?
Thanks,
Patrick

The british Aston Groups seem to recommend Gliptone cleaner and leather treatment. http://www.gliptone.com/retail/ I recently purchased the product and seem to work, and has a good smell. I purchased through Amazon.

I personally don't care for leather dressing. A cleaner and conditioner is one thing but I hate the wet or greasy look. I also feel that conditioners attract dust. I simply wipe my dash with a very light damp microfiber towel. Warm water only. I use an interior duster to remove dust once a week as well. I have not tried leatherique or gliptone but by dash still looks new.

Adam, I'm not really a big fan of interior dressings for the same reasons you mentioned. But I read that maybe some of our dash leather shrinkage issues may have been preventable if leather conditioner had been used early on. Especially, up on those dash panels that sit in direct sunlight. I've just never had a car that didn't take well to formula 303 until the vantage so its got me a little puzzled. Does anyone have any photos of a black V8V interior treated with Leatherique?

I created a thread in the detailing section that is worthwhile to read.
The general opinion is that leatherique works best for the conolly leathers such as Aston and Bently and will NOT cause the leather to get that greasy look that we all do not like. I just purchashed leatherique and should have Wed. I will take the time to post before and after.

Yep agree - The BEST STUFF out there. Have used it on all my cars.
Just did a group buy last week, so I'm stocked up for the year.

I use Zaino's Leather in a Bottle, from my old BMW days.
The leather in the Vantage absorbs it so much better than the BMW or Benz (heavily treated and coated) leather. No grease, no streaks.

Does the leatherique attract dust? If it repels dust that would be killer!

I use Leatherique religiously, if you want better results lay a trash bag over the dash after applying it and let it sit for the afternoon.
It really does keep the leather soft and moisturized.
