So I bought a V12 Vantage . . .
Quick update: Pulled fuse 15 yesterday. What a huge difference it makes. One thing I have been thinking the car is lacking is a more aggressive exhaust note. When just cruising, it's so quiet you can hear the transmission whine (which is not a bad sound). Pulling the fuse fixed this completely. The car now has a proper growl across all rpms. I had been considering an aftermarket exhaust, but now I don't think it's necessary.
It doesn't appear so. Tons of guys have done this on their cars to no ill effect. Also, Mike (AM Dragon Maker) has recommended removing the fuse to get the better sound.
Over concerns the fuse might also be linked to another car system, some have chosen to instead tie off the pneumatic lines that are used to keep the flap open. This is another option, although it requires putting the car on a rack and I like the ability to easily change the sound by just removing/inserting the fuse. For example, I'd probably replace the fuse before a long trip to reduce highway drone.

You're governed to 6K until you reach 1200 miles. So I shift at 5500-6000 and that is pretty awesome. I have gotten bumped down a couple of times when I hit the limiter. You basically feel a loss of throttle to about 4000. Give it some time, I think that you will find that you run out of pavement a lot so you may be shifting at times that aren't optimal. I have found that this car is hungry to go fast, so it really likes to rev and get going. The first time your tooling around and you have to let you foot off of the gas you'll hear a bit of a growl as if the car is disappointed that you are slowing. It really is amazing.
As for the question, this one always strikes me as odd when I see it, and my answer is always to run it to redline in each gear for maximum acceleration. When the engineers design the car, they ideally set the gears up with the engine so that with each gearchange the car doesn't drop outside of its power sweet spot. And max power is almost always very close to redline. Even if it drops down a bit, the car is still making more at redline (and with a higher gear multiplication) than it will in the next successive gear, so run it to redline in each gear. For the most part short-shifting will only hurt your performance.
First off, congrats on the new delivery tomorrow!

Congrats on the car. Looking forward to see some pics. I may be taking my car to the mountains along with a group of other drivers this weekend and hope to get some pics done there.
