Squealing Brakes Saga

I have an 07 V8V purchased new from R Catina in New Jersey. I had intermittent brake squealing from day one. Thought it would go away with time but never did. The few times I brought the car in for service I asked if there had been a recall and was told no. Now I discover online the Service Bulletin dated from 2008. Catina is no longer an Aston dealer however they sent me a notice about a pending service. When I contacted them and asked why I was never told about the Service Bulletin the service rep indicated that there was nothing in my folder about squealing brake complaints. Evidently, someone there dropped the ball. Car only has 4.500 miles and now I'm out of warranty with no recourse.

Can someone provide me with a NA Aston Martin contact so I can share my experience? Thanks.

Don't waste your time. The latest break SB (using shims) did nothing for me. This car was not made for city driving.

I had terrible brake squeal when I got the car...I got the shims done and it's completely gone and has never returned. Get the shims...they work. Unfortunately you probably won't have any success getting AM cover it but it's worth a try. Is the car in FL or NJ? Go to a real dealership and tell them the story and they might get AM to step up. Worst case scenario, if you have to pay it shouldn't be too pricey.

I got the shims on my V8V. Although they definitely helped, they didn't completely fix the problem. A few hard stops seemed to take care of any remaining squeaks though.

try panic braking from 60 mph. do this 3 times... worked for me. As for service, I've had good luck with Miller Motor Cars in Greenwich CT (no luck with Catena) I know that AM is looking to replace that point but they have crazy facility requirements.

The panic breaking doesn't really seem to do the job all too well either. Maybe lowers the frequency for that day. Does anyone know the exact reason for why this happens? I also notice a HUGE amount of break dust on my wheels every day. related?

The SB cost me around $300 to get done (shims). The funny thing is that it looks nothing like the picture with the shims that I saw earlier. I think it was in this forum. Will look.

Car is in NJ unfortunately.

I've done the panic braking thing before and it works for a short while then starts up again.

If I could get my hands on the shims I'd do it myself. Anyone have success with Anti Squeal Brake Lube?

- Find a safe spot:
- Backup at some speed in reverse and hit the brakes -
- repeat
- This solved my squealing problems.
