Battery tender

Hi,
Will common market tender that has the cigarette lighter attachment work through the live 12V socket in the boot? I don't see why not, just want to check and make sure there are no voltage oddities. They are on sale for less than $10 and I just can't bring myself to fork over a few C-notes for the AM one.

In the owner's manual (page 10.34) it points to a socket under the BCD switch as to where you're supposed to connect the battery tender. Is this a misprint? There is a hole under the BCD switch, but there is clearly not a socket. Do we use the live 12V socket instead?

I have an '06. I think the picture you're talking about is on page 11.28 in my manual, just before mention of the battery disconnect switch. That's not where I plug mine in. There's a regular 12 volt socket pretty much directly above that, at the top of the opening, where I plug in the charger.

I have the Aston charger as well, which looks just like the CTEK US 800 with the Comfort Connect plug.

I just got the CTEK 3300 for fathers day and really like it. It was like $60 on Amazon and works perfectly.
