ChaseCam/track camera install questions

Has anybody done installs on cameras for track? I just got a chasecam DIVA:
http://www.chasecam.com/DIVA
two camera system with GPS (for track data overlay).
I've used the chasecams PDR100 on my lotus just using the suction cups to mount on the windshield. Remarkably stable and clear. I'm thinking about doing the same on the dash as I have no GPS (piano finish so it'll stick). Just curious to see if others have done anything different with track video solutions.
I think I might mount the second camera on the rear bumper looking at the exhaust tailpipes to see how much it moves under WOT . The GPS receiver has a velcro base which I'll leave in the Lotus as it does more track duty. In the AM I think I'll just tape it to the roof.

Been meaning to post on this topic for a while. I bought a standard handheld video camera and a dash mount. The both work well in terms of fitting with the car but the test video I shot came out a bit fidgety due to vibration. I think this may be due to the size/weight of the camera (even though it's still pretty small/light). I wanted to try a regular video camera so I would have an LCD that I could use to line up the camera before recording, as well as have a camera that I can use for other purposes. One of these days I'll take some pics of the camera/mount and post them along with the test video I took. It's not horrible, it's just not great. I haven't given up on the camera/mount yet. Will do some more testing soon.

I went through a few of setups like you talk about until I got hold of a chasecam PDR and was wowed. Lipstick sized camera, stable mounts. The video does not shake at all. The new DIVA has an accelerometer for automatic on/off and a built in LCD display to line up the camera and review in the field. I think I'm going to mount on the inside of the windshield and leave the permanent mount for other one.

Okay, cool. I need to check it out. I didn't think any of the purpose-built cameras had LCDs.

Wow, just saw the price of these -- over $1,500 for the cheapest kit! The camera I bought was only like $200 and the mount was $30. Then again, the results aren't quite what I was hoping for.

That's for a two camera system with GPS and data logger etc all in one box. Before this I had the PDR-100 which is just the solid state recorder for one camera which worked very well as well.

The $1500+ was for the one-camera DIVA kit. The PDR-100 doesn't include an LCD like the DIVA.

yeah the PDR doesn't have an LCD for the camera, it's just the devices display.
