Picked Up My 07 In Atlanta
This past Friday I took an early morning flight to Atlanta and picked up my new (used) 07 V8V. The titanium beauty was freshly serviced and gased up when I arrived. I spent about an hour at the dealership and had occasion to talk with the service tech (mechanic) who serviced my car and showed me the car's history, records, and all that had been done. The dealership was very professional, kind, and courteous.
After lunch, I embarked on my 550 mile trip back home. The car ran flawlessly through an hour of bumper to bumper traffic in Atlanta, several thunderstorms in Tennesse, and maneuvered around a half dozen large tire treads lying on the highway. I'm 6'2", 210 LBS, and was quite comfortable in the ****pit, as I got to know and get a good feel for the car. The manual 6-speed shifted smoothly and crisply, and the sound of the engine was like well orchestrated music.
The trip took about 8 hours, which obviously ncluded a number of stops along the way. As I pulled into my garage, I was pretty tired, but I still couldn't wipe the smile off my face. It was an exhilerating experience.
The next morning I walked out to the garage with my coffee in hand, to admire the car and reflect on my journey the previous day. I got the bucket and hose out, and washed bugs from four states off the front end. Fortunately the car came with a clear bra, so there were no paint chips, nicks, or dings to the paint.
