Accessory Socket Fuses? 10A?
Accessory Socket Fuses? 10A?
So I plugged in a defective Air Compressor into my console accessory socket and blew the fuse. I was then dumb enough to try the other accessory socket in the small storage area behind the seats in the convertible. These are independent fuses, and the fuse map in the manual does not seem to label these fuses well. Only one that seemed close was F45 15A Accessory socket illumination, and it is fine. Could it be F54 and F69 (fuse boxes)? I have not checked those.
The car will not start (SportShift), I get a POS error (I don't this means what I think it does).
Thanks in advance, I'm getting the shakes without my AM!

First of all let me say I love my car. WTF!!! When is a fuse that is labeled SPARE ever used for something else. I went through some trial and error of removing the fuses until I found the bad 20A fuse for the Accessory outlet (labeled SPARE) It's #55, if anyone needs it in the future. I used the "SPARE" in fuse #62, as it is also labeled SPARE. I still haven't found the fuse for my spare compartment (last picture here).
CAR STARTS NOW!

BTW, here was the error I was getting when the car was not operational. Just in case anyone else has the same issue. I think this was because of the 10A "Spare" I pulled out of the trunk. Is it possible I have a manual for a coupe not a convertible, and the fuse diagrams are that different? I know it's a 2007 owner's manual, as my car is.
On my 06 V8V Coupe, F68 was labelled "spare" so I used it when the fuse for the reversing lights blew, then noticed my Bluetooth stopped working. Sure enough, turns out F68 is the fuse for the Bluetooth system. So it's obvious the manuals can't be trusted when it comes to indicating which fuses really are spare.
I think "Spare" in British really means "Spare me the effort required to document this"
Does anyone have the complete diagram of fuses for 2007 Vantage Roadster, including definitions of spares?

For reference this was Fuse#2 in the Boot, 20A; for the Accessory jack in the compartment between the seats (Convertible only).
It was also marked "SPARE"
Discovered this by process of elimination, as the 3 Aston Martin Support Managers I asked did not get back to me.

Hi AMV8Indc,
Regarding the pic you posted showing the "Gear POS" message, I noticed also that there are other warning messages lit up. Today, my 07 V8V (18K miles) showed the same message, all the lights in the dash (including instrument panel, radio, etc) and electronic dash functions died. This is recurring intermittently with no apparent pattern, although the car runs perfectly fine. Then, all of the sudden the dash and functions come back.
Have you or anyone on this board experienced something similar? If so, what did you do to resolve it?
Regarding your comment about removing a 10A fuse caused that message to show on your panel, which fuse and where was it located? Perhaps, there's a bad fuse of relay box in my car causing my issues.
Thanks,
~dr
Update -- according to the AM tech, it's most likely due to a COMS breakdown between the Convertible ECU and other ECUs. It was described to me as either a bad Convertible ECU (something to do with the Roadster's convertible top computer); or the way it is communicating between other ECUs. They will take about 2 hours to assess it, if the problem persists in their service bay, then diagnose it. The estimate will be about $1000 with a replaced Convertible ECU.
I'll start another thread, perhaps someone else can learn from this lesson.

..another update in case another person comes across this thread ...thanks a yvr for pointing me to the existing issue/thread @ V8V ECU Malfunction (https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...lfunction.html)

DR,
Sorry about my delayed reaction to your post, I've been on vacation. Mine was simply a bad fuse in the boot (not under the hood, or under the passenger footwell). I still think there is no fuse map in existence for the 07 Vantage Roadster. Let me know if you come by one.
