Considering V8V - Dealer vs Indy vs DIY maint

Hi, new to the forum but not to exotic ownership. I have a nicely moded 06 Maserati Gransport Spyder for wknds but want to add another exotic to my stable.

I'm considering an 07 V8V MT as a DD and trying to figure out the annual cost of ownership...in particular maintenance. I read annual maint to be around $1,500 which is consistent with what my local AM dealer said.
1. Assuming I drive 10-12K/yr would annual maint still be $1,500?
2. What about schedule maint intervals and cost?
3. In terms of resale, does it matter if an Indy does maint vs a dealer?
4. Do any of you perform your own maint and if so, how do you maintain records? I have my own lift and prefer to do my own basic work but do not want to affect resale.
I look forward to your replies !

the maintenance sched is annual and allows for that many miles. anyone that has a high-quality indy goes to them for a reason, so resale will not be effected if the indy is good enough. some people might want the AM stamp, but i know a few indy mechs that are top-notch and it wouldn't bother me if they did the work vs a dealer (in fact, my V8V was maintained by an indy shop by the previous owner). i don't perform my own maintenance on my V8V, but i do and have on every other car i've owned.

Thanks telum01...your input helps. Hopefully others will have an opinion on maint cost and record integrity.

1. As stated above, maintenance schedules are set 1yr or every 10,000mls, whichever comes first. If you are using as a DD and driving closer to 12k/year, you may want to do an additional oil change. You will also obviously be going through more tires, brakes and running through your clutch in a shorter amount of time ... all this would add up and your "maintenance" cost would be higher than the estimated $1500.

2. See above. The cost also vary and some years will be a little higher as more things are inspected and changed out.

3. Resale ... this is a tough one and everyone will have their own opinion on this. I would buy a car that was maintained by an Indy, as long as it was documented but others wouldn't. It's a chance you take. Maybe consider that the higher mileage of a DD in Houston (assuming you are in Katy, TX), might erode more value than whether or not you have a dealer stamp? Just a thought.

4. I do some of my own maintenance and have done so in other cars I have owned. I have alwaysed maintained a file with all receipts and a written log of what was done, when and the estimated cost. In reality, I've traded in my cars and the dealer never asked for maintenance records ... but for private sale, they are a must have.

I hope this helps and good luck!
