Yes.
They stripped the parking brakes cleaned and regreased the cable
They replaced one rear caliper, cleaned and reseated all the pads on all four corners.
Worked a treat.

AML's latest solution

AML put out SB-06-0344 on 8 November 2011 titled Recommended Brake Maintenance Procedures. You can find it here:
http://tinyurl.com/recommendebrakeprocedures

It offers a two-step solution. First is the shims you all know about. Second is slathering the back side of the pads with TUNAP micrologic® PREMIUM 113 Brake Care+ brake goo:
http://www.tunap.com/en/ranges/autom...ucts/p113.html

I went looking for this stuff at the local car parts store, and the closest goo I could find was CRC's 05016 Disc Brake Quiet:<http://crcindustries.com/auto/?s=05016

The fine print for the CRC product says, "For use on the back of non-shimmed disc pads", so I wouldn't advocate using that product as a substitute.

SB-06-0344 suggests the use of brake shim pack with p/n 4G43-28-10789. I quick Google search of that p/n suggested it may be a Jaguar part number, but a call to the parts guy at my local Jag dealer proved otherwise. If one of you can source that pack from other than AML, please let us know.
