I'm having two different issues with my 08 V8V. One is the break pedal that is super hard when the car hasn't been driven for more than a day. The pedal becomes normal when I start the car but before that is hard as a rock. The second issue is a whining/whistling noise coming from the steering wheel/column when the wheel is turned full right or full left. Any of you encountered these issues?

 

The brake pedal concern might be normal. The only thing that gets me is after a day its hard. If the car is off and you press the brake pedal several times it will become hard. This is normal as there is no vacuum being supplied to the booster. The only thing I can suggest is check the check valve in the booster to engine hard line for leaks and or faults.
As far as the noise from the steering. If you reach full lock on the steering wheel by turning all the way right or left, you will get a whine noise. It is the power steering pump being (for lack of better words) maxed out. This is also a normal operation.
