So what do you think about this quote?

Does his comment about not driving your Ferrari apply to Astons?

I would think it applies to any high end marque...why buy it if you ain't gonna drive it?? (unless of course it is part of a collection and very rare).

That's exactly what I'd be doing with my money if I had his money. This guy knows how to enjoy life.

I love that quote.

Its provided me with two additional New Years resolutions, to add some additional miles to my Aston, and to make my girlfriend really undesirable to a next boyfriend .

I'm off to bed now

It certainly applies - near 20K miles in two years of ownership for me. These are toys at the end of the day, so use em.

I agree somewhat, although I neither want a high mileage car nor a high mileage girlfriend.

I was drinking coffee when I read this post. I laughed so hard that I almost choked. THAT was funny.

Yep, cars are there to be driven! Stuck 9k on the Aston this year, plus a lot on all the others. I don't drive to work, just for pleasure. A good car can make the whole of
Europe very close...

I understand that some cars are bought as investments but there are different types of car enthusiast - some like to look at them, clean them and so on. Some like to drive them and that's it. I'm the latter.

investment

I'm buying another car this week. Not so much as an investment but more because of sentimentality and rarity. And as opposed to my vantage which I drive daily, I will rarely drive this car. It is a 1978 caddy coupe deville. One of two made in 78 in this particular "experimental"silver with red leather interior. It has 28k original miles ( like my Aston) and has never felt water. Literally. Never been washed!! Only dusted. I'm of the school of thought that if I own a nice car, I'm driving it. But I think I will keep mileage low on this caddy. I actually think the vantage will be collectible some day too.
