Car wouldn't start again...
Some may remember I needed the transmission module replaced on my 2012 Vantage S after taking delivery. Basically the car wouldn't start and wouldn't go into gear if I could eventually get it to turn over.
This past week I had driven the car to a meeting about an hour away. The car sat for around three hours. When I went to start it all the electronics came up but I just heard a faint hum without the car starting. I tried to start it four times with no luck.
After I locked and unlocked the car with the ecu it finally started. The selector light on the "N" button flashed a few times but I was able to get it in gear and drive home. When I originally had the problem after delivery the indicator lights on the gear buttons would flash but I couldn't get the car in gear. When I got home I turned the car off and was able to restart it without issue.
Now I'm concerned about driving the car anywhere that will require me to turn it off and restart it. Could this have been an isolated incident or should I be more concerned? I emailed the service manager after it happened but never heard back.
Edit: I should also mention that at itdle it was slightly rough that day. Nothing major, but it's usually completely smooth.

It's definately a concern and worth a trip to the dealer for a diagnostics check of the various electronic modules that may contribute to your problem. Am suprised that you haven't received a response from the Service Manager...certainly not what one expects from a new car under warranty.
I regularly Have a similar problem. My car is an 09 vantage. I push the key all the way in and hold it as I normally would and all the electronics come on but the engine doesn't start. I often have to take the key out and reinsert it many times to get it to start. I assumed there was some normal function I was missing (in my f-car if I don't hit the alarm button, the car wont start with the key) and I figured there was some sort of safety measure I was missing. while I find it frustrating, it has never taken me more than a minute of in and out with the key to get it to work. Im not sure I will make a special visit to the deal to have this addressed. I may regret that decision if I end up stranded.
Having been stranded I sincerely hope you never have to go through it. I got stuck at my local Nordstrom's - the car had stalled while I was in the parking lot driving behind another car. I had to push it into a spot and put on my hazards. Unfortunately, as I was pushing it myself, I could only maneuver it onto the line directly between two spots. So now my brand new Vantage is taking up two spots in the mall parking lot with the hazards on - I wonder how many people thought I did it on purpose?
The service manager did get back to me and we will have the car to the dealer this coming monday. I will try to replicate the problem over the coming weekend. The first time it was in to have the transmission module replaced it would only happen if the car was running for more than 30-40 minutes. They had the car for around a week before they were able to get it to happen at the dealer.
I have a few events planned within the next few months (one at Lime Rock) and it makes me nervous to drive the car somewhere relatively far from my home if the possibility of not having it start exists. Also, I am temped to take my other car when my wife and I go to Blue Hill at Stone Barns in a few weeks to avoid the possibility of being stranded. Although I love the ride, the thought of being unable to start it "on location" takes away from the enjoyment.

Doc, I'm starting to believe that you may need to look into Lemon Laws if this continues. This is not normal

I've done as my tech told me and have never had an issue starting up the car. I have, however, had issues if the ECU is in the 1 or 2 position and then I try to start it.
It's not right that the dealer has not responded to ur concern of such...if Iwas in ur shoes, I would contact the district AM manager for that area..this way he will over look the matter and inquire every process done in the repair of this concern
The car has been at the dealer since yesterday. As of now there is no diagnosis. They are trying to replicate the problem while it is hooked up to their diagnostic computer so they can send the data to AML. I really hope they can figure this out. As of now I only feel comfortable taking the car on drives that start and end at my home. Even getting gas has become stressful as I worry if the car will restart after refueling.
This has started happening to me recently. Put the ECU in all the way and electronics come on but the car doesn't start. Happened about 4 times in the past week and half. I'm taking it in for that a couple of other issues. Having lots of issues with this car.
