RSC ECU Reprogram installed yesterday!

Yesterday, Stuart from RSC Tuning installed the ECU reprogram in my 07 AMV8. The difference is short of astonishing !!! I'm blown away by how this reprogram transforms the drivability and power of this car. I have never felt such a big change and differnce after installing a reprogram in a car. Since you start the car, it fires up smoother and faster, even the sound of the car has changed a little... more bassy. Once I started to drive off, I felt a more positive engagement of the clutch. Now there is no mistaking where the clutch takes over. This is because, the engine is producing more torque at low rpm's. The engine is running "A LOT" smoother than before, you can definetely feel the increase in HP & TQ. Before, when the car came to a crawl, one need it to downshift to 1st. gear to avoid stalling the engine. Now, even if you come to a crawl in 3rd. you can still accelerate cleanly out without downshifting. That is irrefutable proof that the torque at low rpm's has increased significantly!!! Now, when you apply low to medium throttle, the car takes off with more authority, eager, punchier. When you open and close the throttle rapidly, you feel the car wanting to take off; which before it wasn't the case. It climbs the rev band faster and smoother, and you can feel the power surging rapidly while the car covers more road in less time.

Too all AMV8 owners out there that have not made this mod yet, DO IT!!! Call or write Stuart and get it. You won't be dissapointed at all. If you thought the AMV8 was a daily driver already, now it will be even more and with a lot more accesible power on tap too. Now, the car reaches the upper ranges of the rpms faster and with no discernible plateau of power. INCREDIBLE TRANSFORMATION. I even text Stuart three blocks after I left his office: "BIG DIFFERENCE". He even says that it will become even better after a few miles more, as the engine needs to send more info to the ECU and self-adjust accordingly. I can't wait, tonight I will cycle the engine thru different rpms, accelarations, braking, and stop and go scenarios to make the computer learn faster.

Thank you very much Stuart.
Worth every penny!!!

I think we have only done up to 2010 MY but the protocol is the same so we should be able to reflash no problem.

Did you make any other changes before the Reflash, such as mufflers or cats? Can I do the re-flash at home or do I need to pull the ECU and send it in?

No... This is the first mod I did to the car. I just got the car two weeks ago. I got it with 6474 miles and currently has 6603 miles. Yes, you can reflash the ECU at home. The price of the reflash includes a code reader, OBD cable, and a computer interface cable that you keep. With the code reader you can read fault codes from the car in the future. I got lucky that Stuart lives and works in South Florida as I am computer handicapped, so I let Stuart do the remap on mine. But it took him 2 min. to read my program, then he send it to the U.K., came back next day early, went to his office, I ask him for the bathroom, took a wiss, came back out, the car was done!!! No need to pull anything! I will suggest you PM Stuart, very nice, friendly and knowledgeable guy.... well, so far... (I know you are reading this Stuart ).

To all of you interested in the reflash, I would like to add something.
My last three rides were Porsches. As some of you might know, those cars are like guns; they have the hammer pulled already, and you just need to pull the trigger. In Porsches, the torque comes in millimetrically in relation to the movement of the throttle. In the Aston Vantage everything is more relax, gentler, its responses are slower.... after the RSC reprogram... I have to say, the Vantage is responding very similar to the Porsche. Remember, I just changed cars two weeks ago so, I haven't forgotten how the Porsche responds to commands. I have to be honest, when I bought the Vantage, I knew beforehand it was going to be a fair less responsive than the Porsche but, I was prepare and willing to make the change. After driving the Vantage for the first 3-4 days, I thought I was not going to get used to the car. But, the RSC ECU Reprogram has transformed the Vantage engine eagerness to rev, availability of power at lower revs, and the smoothness and power across the powerband, and puts it right there with the Porsche's. As you can detect, I am very happy with it and I don't do this often unless I'm very impress!!! I think I'll keep the Vantage a little longer than anticipated...
