Purchase Advise Need Help

Ok, Porsche is sold, 2006 V8 Vantage with 6400 miles offered with CPO for 12k miles or 1-year at $72,000. AM Titanium Silver with black interior, red brake calipers, heated seats, 19 inch wheels, navigation, battery conditioner, cruise control. How is pricing? Should I look for 2007 instead of 06, since 2006 was the first model year? What else should I ask about? Hard to be rational about the car, it is so f..... beautiful. Thanks.

I'd try and work them down, seems a little high for a 2006. You should also confirm whether or not it had the timing belt cover gasket repair. It's an expensive job and a lot of the early cars (2006-2007) had that particular issue.

I bought a 2007 with 9k miles a year and a half ago for less than $70k, similar spec as the one listed above.

They are beautiful!!

you should definitely ask to see a copy of all service and repair records....will give you a good history of the car and indicate the type of care it received. also ask to see the owner's manual, which would have been signed off by the AM dealer performing each service. i found it pretty easy to just call the AM dealer that serviced the car and have the service rep give me a complete download on the car's history over the phone.

agree that the price seems a bit high for a 2006 MY. the warranty for 12 months is only worth about $3K.

As others have said, a bit high for an '06 . . . unless prices have bottomed and these cars are appreciating in value. I can at least dream.

That is way too high for a 2006.

CPO typically costs $3K (what I paid). The timing belt cover may not be covered! This is a very very expensive repair. While I would agree the cars is beautiful (love silver w/red calipers)... its priced too high. Don't fall in love with it as there are plenty of 2007's for less and you can always purchase the warranty. (I did but it turned out I didn't need it afterall). I can see the seats are different from my 07... not sure about anything else.
