sounds like a perfect candidate for a transmission swap while you're in there...

Well looking at prices, a reman engine from Aston Martin $21,000, a new engine $34,000, engine as shipped (what ever that means) $82,000. Having done many engine removals from a Vanquish....there is alot of work to replace a engine. You might be looking at 50+ hours of labor.

Can he put a Gaydon 6.0Lv12 from a DB9/DBS with a Graziano 6MT transaxle into that Vanquish?? If so that would be NICE!!! ...even if I'm thinking DME integration would be buggy, no?

Thanks for all the feedback. I've really been torn about this over the past couple days. The car is absolutely perfect..super clean, looks brand new. I just can't see how this thing isn't worth 25K? I'm looking at it again today and I think my sweet spot is $20,000..if I can get them to agree on that, I'm taking it home. I don't think I want to make a project of it, so I think I'm just gonna flip it or something..who knows. I just want it!! I'll get some pictures posted as soon as it's in my garage.

On a side note. Just installed my SS exhaust and air filters from RSC yesterday. HOLY *****!!!! I love it!! Sounds amazing and it "feels" like I gained 50HP. Super nice quality and the fit was a snap. Thanks Stuart!

If you wouldn't buy the car for more than $20K, why do you think someone else will? I would carefully consider this before you buy if you don't want to keep the car.
