I just finished updating the maps on my 2009 V8V hard drive disk (HDD) sat nav system. I ordered the Volvo DVD for around $200. Here's the link for the 2011/2012 North America maps:

http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT...gationMenu=YES

The Volvo part # is 31326249 1122. I suggest ordering from Navteq's webiste directly. If you go to a Volvo dealership, they will charge you $285, instead of $200.

A few things to note:

- The update process takes almost 3 hours , so you best do it while driving or while your car is plugged to a battery tender.

- The update process can be done in stages. You don't have to do it all at once. The update process simply resumes where it left off.

- The AM startup logo will NOT be replaced by a Volvo logo . It appears that our sat nav systems do at least have some AM firmware built in.

- The interface (e.g., home page) does look updated.

- Not sure if we previously had this option, but the updated maps seem to have added the ability to view things in 3D.

A few pics are attached.
I have brought the exactly same Dvd disc, and I believed we have the same navi. Mine is a AM vantage 10, but nothing shows up on the screen...is there any way you can initiate the process?

After I put all 3 discs in to the cd, the aston martin start logo disappeared, instead it shows loading and then the navi starts... Don't know whats wrong with that..

2008 V8V Nav

Sorry this doesn't help the newer models but the 2008 Vantage Navi works excellent with the 2012 Volvo update Navi discs; The Aston Logo is not lost on start up either.

is the 2008 the same as the 2007. I have been wanting to update my 2007 V8V but I have just been putting it off.

So is the 05 XC 90 the one I Would need for my 2006 DB9 then?
