Anyone watching the 24 hrs of Le Mans?
Yup, Speed is carrying it in Canada, good to see extended coverage of it in HD. Flipping back and forth from that and the US Open this aft. Heading to the Radiohead show here this evening though. Too bad the caution has been taking so @#$@ long tho.
Damn! Stage collapse at the venue during set up and the show is canceled!! Unfortunately there is one dead a few injured as well. This was the final date on their NA tour, just Europe and Australia after this. Not sure they will reschedule. Sucks, I have been waiting a long time to see them (and my kids are more bummed than I). Guess I'm gonna see more of Le Mans that I expected.

Ya it's more like amateur hour (er, 24 hours) in terms of Speed's coverage but I guess they don't have to deal with the pressure of 'getting it right' in two hours. They can work things up to a professional level

Well, the boys didn't finish quite as well as they started, but a good result nonetheless. Pretty impressive showing considering how much fewer funds Aston has relative to Ferrari and Corvette. Congratulations Aston! Keep up the good work.
Edit: Just read that the Vantage GTE (with Mucke driving) set the fastest lap time during the race for the GT class. We can all be proud of that! Now if they can just work on fuel economy . . .

Good showing in GT for the gulf livery vantage v8. Nice to see Aston back at lemans and in GT vs LMP classes. I still long for the brilliant racing of the dbr9 vs corvette in gt1 class. Aston had some great development and success with Prodrive during those campaign years, of course great drivers like Brabham and a top notch team made things come along well for Aston Martin Racing. That program really spoke volumes about astons resurgence and their competitiveness as GM & Pratt Miller had shown dominance in that class with a very developed corvette c5 and c6 program. The dbr9 was in se ways one of the reasons I really was drawn to the db9, I mean I'd already loved the car but it was a nice association... I think the racing campaign was very timely for Aston and they did a fantastic job of marketing the brand thru that program.
As a Vantage owner, I'm really glad to see a Vantage lapping the track. I only wish I could see the V12V-based GT3 car more often (for obvious reasons
).
! I'm happy that AM was in the mix for sure this year and I gotta admit the Vantage V8 looked mean out there, and was fast about a half second faster then the corvette in laptimes. ...but I do love the DBR9 hey it beat Corvette at LeMans in 2007
. I woulda liked to see the v12V GT3 also...that's a proven winning formula, big engine, smaller car, shorter wheel base...remind you of something else that was a great performer in it's day...Shelby's Cobra!
^^^ I agree this absolutely broke my heart...Bravo for innovation and deltawing and the great team and effort behind it. I really hopr to see delta wing out again, would love ot see this team podium or get a victory! Yes, it was so much more that another race car, it stood for so much more.
