HUDs are great as long as your glasses/sunglasses aren't polarized.

Haha!! That's right. I purposely ordered NON-polarized sunglasses, because I don't like rainbows.

Same problem occurs with any LCD nav display.

I test drove the 650i convertible extensively in my search for a replacement for my Porsche and I LOVED the HUD. I wish it was more widely available.

It worked perfectly and nothing would make me happier than Aston licensing this from BMW for use in their cars.

I had a HUD in my Z06. It was far too distracting and I had to turn it off. Don't need something in my line of sight all the time. Just like the Nav screen..don't want to see it if I don't need it.

But that's exactly my point - you can turn it off, if you choose. You can't tell me that a few lights pointing at the windshield is going to raise the price of a vehicle any significant amount. In fact, for those who prefer to NOT look down, this could prove as a safety feature. If it serves as a distraction, disable. Done. Safer for those that use it, safer for those that prefer NOT to.
