Defective Performance Cats

Just received my new cats yesterday and found one of them seems to be defective. The vendor said he was told that wouldn't affect performance of the cats. What do you guys think?

Def not the best quality control, but no it should not have any adverse effects. Perhaps you can ask for a partial discount back in return for the defective product.

Simply have them exchange it for another one. That shouldn't be a problem.

One of mine looked similarly. I felt it would not affect performance. In retrospect, I thought it might have been a good idea to exchange by it might affect resale value if I ever took them off the car.

Many thanks guys, for the comments and suggestions! Feeling much better knowing it won't affect anything if I were to keep 'em. They came from UK so the exchange/return might be a pain but should be worth it.

cret-ask for a discount. I had that on one of mine and it was replaced no questions asked. When spending that kind of money the cells should all be clear.

Congrats! I can't wait to put them on either.

Unfortunately I don't have lift/jack, so the installation will be done at a local shop (non-AM).

Do I need to purchase the replacement bolts, nuts and gaskets from AM dealer or can be obtained from any shop?

Cret, I reused my gaskets but needed to replace bolts that I picked up at the local auto store. Work great!

Everything can be purchased at your local auto parts store. The shop that is doing the work should have these parts available also.
