Is It Possible To Pop Out Radio Display Cover?

On my 08 AMV8V Roadster, I thought the radio display needed cleaning. I discovered though that it needs cleaning on the inside of the plastic window.

Apparently there are dried remnants of a spray-bottle "cleaning". Anyone ever popped this little plastic window out?

Thanks!

I don't know how to do it but yes I believe it does come out somehow. My car had dust behind the plastic and the dealer fixed it by removing the plastic and cleaning. Looks good now. Sorry I can't be of more help.

The plastic does not come off, but you can get in there to clean it out, the radio screen is bolted to the center stack. You would have to remove the center stack, disassembly it and then you would have access to the back side of the clear lens to clean.

I hate to go against Irish on this but you can pop off the plastic lens....the issue is getting it back on. Its held with on with double side tape. They scratch really easy. You can order them from a dealer, maybe around the $100 range, not sure what each dealer charges. Just make sure to tell them if its a '09 or newer model or a older model has there are two different styles.

Wow! It took about a minute to remove it, clean it, and stick it back on!

I assumed the lens was thick, but it's thin and delicate, for those who are going to give this a try.

Thanks, AMFixer.
