Sure! Except save the beer - makes me sleepy! I do tend to work slow though, so as not to make mistakes and wind up damaging parts or breaking things. In my younger days as a pro motorcycle mechanic I used to go much faster and now I take my time and get them done right, I don't have to make flat rate and if the car / bike sits in the garage for a bit while I scratch my head then that's fine, too. Long as you are not in a hurry, we can do work on things!

I restored a 1993 Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000 last winter. Found it abandoned in a warehouse in Alexandria and its a very rare bike, with only 253 made. The owner had taken it apart and of course had no recollection of how it all went back together nor the service manual. I spent DAYS trying to figure out why I kept blowing fuses after I got the wiring all sorted and hooked up. Made me crazy, but I was in no hurry. Finally after two weeks of research I discovered in Moto Guzzi folklore that they didn't really care if the positive and negative cables were properly color-coded and tended to use what was in the part bins at the Guzzi factory. Well, the day they built this Daytona they must have ran out of red wire because they used black for two of the four hot leads, and once I figured that out - I had the bike fired up and running in no time. Black wire to the positive terminal - who'd have thunk? Anyways, it took me 8 months to restore this bike as I was not in a hurry...but I sold it soon afterwards to a guy in Arlington that really wanted it and was willing to pay my price. Here's a photo the day after completion..

Man sometimes I wish I had the skills of yours or some of the other DIY guys here on the forums, truly remarkable that someone can be so patient, meticulous, and painstakingly restore something like a bike, car, heck of even a boat !

I wasn't really too loud for me, but it does seem to have lost the V8 rumble. It sounds to me a little too much like one of those souped-up Honda 4-pots that sometimes pulls up along side me and then races off...........no offense meant.

Anyway, being a biker I thought you quite might like that sound!

I returned the car to stock yesterday morning. So I'm REALLY-REALLY good on doing exhausts now, and am probably only 15 minutes behind Irish in install and removal speed . It was just too loud overall and the cops in Fairfax County love to pull people over for small time things, just didn't need the sure-to-come hassle. So for now its a Fuse 22 pull for me and I'm good with that until I get the V12 Vantage sometime down the road.

RSC Cats are already sold to a forum member, and I'll leave the Mansory pipe up here for about a week before I take it over to EBAY.

We do a lot of the remote bypass modules on the exhaust with clients that have the RSC cats..so when your around area's you need to be quite..push of the rear view mirror button and back to original operation it is with the bypass's working..push the button again on rearview mirror and loud mouth exhaust at your command...

So wait did you return to completely stock? I thought your farkeled your way to RSC cats with Mansory exhaust and then decided to De-farkel to just RSC cats and stock exhaust...but now looks like you went back to completely stock everything and just pulled the 22 fuse...

Farkeling resultant is now 0, no net gain.... so when does the mod bug bite again ?? I know you can't leave stock alone? I thought you were going to stick with the RSC cats and stock pipe with the 22 fuse pulled, that was my bet on what would best suit the sound level you may have been going for, and the keep the fairfax Co cops off your tail!

So, my advice to anyone that is considering the RSC cats and any aftermarket exhaust is do them one at a time. If you're definitely doing the cats - the buy and put those on before you buy a rear exhaust. See what you think. Then, if its not loud enough for you or you want a different tone, then get the aftermarket pipe for the rear.
Lol. What _did_ I tell u

I know, I know. I have a net ZERO farkle gain and that is disturbing. The RSC Cats were just too much hammering for me, what can I say? I'm old....old and cranky these days, Don't like loud noises...

An Aston Martin just might be the hardest car in the world to farkle up. For sure there is very little you can do to the style of the car to improve it (see that silly Mansory Kit photo on the DBS). Guess I could spend $ 1,500 to put a carbon fiber lip spoiler on the car to just knock it off on the first curb stop I misjudge....

Maybe I can do the power kit for the 4.3 L car. That's what.... $ 5K for 30 HP? Something like that? Or....just skip farkling and save the cash for a DBS and upgrade the whole car - yeah, that might be the ticket. Or get Jay Leno or Ralph Lauren to sell me their One-77 for cheap.

^^^ Never fear Duane my friend, you have many more old and cranky days on your mortal coil to farkle away!

I agree that Astons are not farkle friendly...and they are expensive when considering the allmighty dollar to hp ratio indeed.

I think for you the best option woulf be to supercharge your 4.3, reason being is that you have the skills to do it, plus the Vantage is the best and tightest package for the track, truthfully it still remains Aston's "drivers" car. The DB cars nice, GT and sport hybrids, they are heavier and bigger you can feel their weight more, be it DB9 or DBS...ideally for you the v12 Vantage would be best but you can save money by doing the upgrade kit on your '07 Vantage and have a tight, fun, and powerful car at the end of the day...not to mention the delight of farkeling once again having the ability to say "I did this!" when all is said and done!
