Fun thread... Devil's advocate
It's not the plastic that bothers me, it's the way the stalk snaps when you move it into position to activate the indicator. Feels like a wishbone breaking. Don't know why Ford and other American manufacturers cannot borrow the technology used by the Germans or the Japanese on this.
Okay, here's where I go on a rant. When a low fuel indication pops up, you can push the end button on the indicator stalk to clear it. If you do, the speedo immediately returns. If you don't immediately do this, however, you will need to cycle through all the display options to get back to the speedo, which is the last one in the list. Annoying! Even worse, some messages require you to press the read button, which is on a different part of the car and is tiny. Half the time I'm wasting my time trying to figure out which button to press while I should be focusing on my driving. I believe this has been fixed on the new cars, but I would love it if Aston could provide a software patch to change this. Ideally, I would like to only be reminded of low fuel ONCE at say 20 miles left (not at 50, 40, 30, 20, 10), and I'd like to be able to clear it with a single button press using the same button every time!
Same thing goes for the warning message regarding low tire pressure and switching the traction control off.

Just thought of another gripe: I'd really like an indication of which tire is low, instead of a generic warning message and having to look under the #$&%@ dash to figure out which tire is the culprit. Even this procedure is complicated by the fact that the TMPS unit only identifies the tires by color code. Almost like they're trying to make it more difficult.

OK so for fun only - to Jasper's remark. Last year my wife received an 03 911 Turbo for Christmas with the bow taken from the local Lexis Dealer. Keeping that a secret for a week was next to impossible. Hardest part was not being able to look at it to remind me why I just spent that money for the seven days it was hidden in a friends garage. Of course it didn't magically appear in the living room. Rather midway through Christmas Eve festivities at another family members. So people do get cars with bows on them for Christmas. :-)
I came back and she picked out my car, a spec'd out G35, stored in her sister's garage - with a red bow on it... But that's just it. We have been discussing it for quite sometime (hence her knowing my specs/prefs). I don't know... Just the way stupid commercials hit me - like the ones now with smart phones "sequences shortened" - no kidding, NO phone does stuff on commercials that easy.
Sorry, guys. Back to your regular scheduled program...
Where the heck is this "Read" button lol
...is it the button at the end of the stalk that you keep pressing to cycle through the info, digi speed, avg mpg, range, avg mph etc...etc...

No, it's a separate button. You can't clear certain messages with the stalk button (tire pressure, traction control off, etc.). The read button is in the center console. On my car ('11 V12V) it's right next to the radio tuning ****, upper right side of the console.
^^^ Ah yes I think I know the one, I'll have to look more carefully ...can't read crap on the center console...
ding! yet another gripe lol
see how fun this thread can be lol haha!!!

I may be the exception but my 2009 Vantage with the HDD navigation and a 2012 map disk seem to operate well. In comparison to other navs, my wife's Infiniti, a previous BMW and a Acura TSX. It as good or better than all but the Acura.
The tire/fender gap is a little too much. Audi does this better. The whole exhaust set-up.... should be perfect and not ripe for the aftermarket. The cars should come with headers, high-flow cats and a lightweight dual mode exhaust from the factory. The engines should have direct injection too (like the R8 & next gen corvette).
The biggest surprise for me was that the drivers seat, as sleek and comfortable as it looks and even feels when you first sit in it, is quite unergonomic and becomes quite uncomfortable once you are out for more than 2-3 hours of driving.
The left leg support on the side of the seat presses uncomfortably against my thigh. My lower back _really_ gets cramped and sore with extended seat time. Obviously I tried many permutations on the settings for the seat (to no avail). I eventually found that a foam back support takes care of the back pain (but c'mon, who wants to have one of those in his Aston?). Haven't got a fix for the pressure on my leg.
I should add that I do not have any back issues in general (and never with any other car) and am of average size (5'11", 180 lbs).
Am I alone in this?

I've found the seats in DB9 to be fantastic, I've driven for hundreds of miles up from South Florida in then and no fatigue or soreness. The dual zone heating is great also, helps on cold mornings...does the Vantage have a more crammed interior? The DB is a longer car...but from being inside numerous Vantages, I didn't recall the interior to be uncomfortable at all? dunno...
Seats (too high) and relationship of seats to pedals, Just awful. Ergonomics isn't a black art... either the car was built for short or dysmorphic people, or I like a weird seating position - but I just can't get comfy. Why can I get a perfect seating position in my Exige even though it's far smaller than the V12V?
Squeaks and rattles. Specifically, the @*$# hatch, which did the same on my V8V. And the creaking centre console. LOL if Irish ever takes apart my dash (hope not, knock on wood) he'll find half a bottle of talcum powder inside!

Me too. 2 back operations years ago. The seats in the DB9 are spectacular! Super comfortable just wish there was a little more room for all 5'-17" of me....
No sunroof fo-sho!

The car looks so good and sounds so good that it effectively deceives me into thinking it is fast but as we all know… it is not. Granted the goal of this car is not street racing but at this price point it shouldn’t have issues out running a Ford Focus from a light (and it does have issues with that). However, I am still happier with this car than I have been with several comparable models from other manufacturers so maybe less is more (including the power of the motor)?
