OP What wheels did you go with eventually?

Don't mind LR's light ribbing, he and I butted heads in the past then we both realized it's all in good gest... he's got some good advice for ya and contributes informatively here on the forum as a valued member. He's made some excellent mods to his DB9, which really make that car look nice.

I like the mesh, but really wheels are a matter of personal taste.
The only opinion that matters is your own.

Evoking,
Joking or not, I've got to agree with LR's comments. If, after all the dialogue, you still are unsure get some quick Photoshop or Clipping tool going on, and mock up the wheels that you're considering on a photo of you car. After all, a wheel Design that suits one car may not suit another.

FatFrankAlright, did you really have to quote LRDog's banter about a Jag post in an Aston forum of all things? That's it... one more person even hints at another snide remark or reference re: Jag post in an Aston form I'm going out to get a Vantage to add to the collection to shut you snobs up !

Go on, make my day. Give me the reason.

Now that I think about it, wifey is looking at Rovers. Perhaps I'll swing her toward Rapide instead!

. Huh! Maybe the wheels you end up with (given of course you really do make a decision) will fit on the. vantage?

Apologies Evoking,
I didn't mean to push your buttons that much, but perhaps if I push a little more you'll consider a 9!

BTW My wife loves her RRSSC

Alright peeps. So I went with Ace Convex.

However, they got the fitment all wrong. The rears were far too aggressive and rubbed badly. The fronts sat in way too far. I'm in the process of swapping them out for either better fitment or I may go to the Matte Gray Mesh 7.

I think the Covex looks a bit better on the smaller Vantage. Also, the XKR could arguably use less bling and more aggression. Hence the thought behind going with the dark mesh.

^^^^ Is it just me or is the right rear wheel-well liner coming off in that last picture?

I like the look on them (but I am biased as I have them on my Vantage), did you test fit them on the car before putting tires on them? I'm always careful to do that myself - sounds like Ace is going to swap them out for you? Kudos if they will, most makers won't once the tires have been mounted.

As a side note, when I took my car into Aston Martin of Washington on Sunday, they REALLY liked the wheels on it. However, they did not believe I only paid $ 1,230 shipped for a set of (4) and asked me to email them the invoice and contact information. They said that they looked good enough to cost that much per wheel.

I don't think the wheels are the best choice for your Jag either. In fact I think your stock wheels look better. There are other choices you came up with in 20's that fit the car more, maybe something with rivets or a little more bling, a split 5, or 6 cancavo.

Yeah I think I see the fender liner coming off on the right rear wheel well...what's going on there?

That's the thin plastic "wheelarch extension" that is put on to make the car legal for sale in European homologating markets. For said markets you must, by law, cover the section of the wheel and tire that is 30 degrees forward of the wheel center and 50 degrees rearward of it.

You can remove it for the US.

I hate it when these wheel selling Muppets do that! You've got something nice, something a bit more special and rare than they're used to and they can't even be bother to research the offset and width correctly with their supplier, and as a result sell you whatever the "think" will fit. Complete Numpties. I do feel for you on this one Evoking.

Anyway, it's a bit hard to tell from your pics but it looks like the rear offset might be circa 10mm too low, or alternatively the wheel too wide? As you say, the front looks a little too far in.

Look pretty good apart from that though nice choice.

Agree. I don't trust wheel sellers as far as I can throw them when it comes to fitment. I can do a whole lot better job figuring out what will fit...it ain't rocket science.

Are you sure? Look at that last picture again. It doesn't look like a wheel arch extension.
