.....and OMG is it an ugly fat pig. I am normally more reserved in my comments, but it is sooooooo bad. It really reminded me of some old out of date oversize Buick....
it looks like an overly curvy re-worked version of the previous quatroporte...not a nice looking though. It's too busy too much going on. I like the powerplant on the new one but the styling on the older one.

I don't know about you all but I think it's generations better than any of the Porsche Panny's and it was not conceived by the hunchback in Notre Dame either! I like it a lot. Just my immaculate-design-experienced-professional-eye I guess :-)
It's rather confused and mostly meh-reffic.
Trying to tie the tail lights to those on the GT is a nice idea, but those don't feel quite right.
And there's something very wrong with the trunk scale. It feels low and dropping. In fact, the whole car feels like that. Not taut or firm but rather soft and melty. Reminds me of the Infinity M45. Adding a crease at your hips won't hide that they are fat and sagging.
I never grew too fond of the last Q-P but always liked the tail lights.
Why the Panamera gets so much scorn is beyond me. While it's not the sleekest car on the road, it's no where near the ugly end of the spectrum.
And then, to shame them all, there is Rapide. [why it lacks at least the option for 700+ hp of the 77 one is a mystery]

Well...IMO it is a hell of a lot better looking that the outgoing model. for what it is....a full size 4 door car, I do not find it a fat pig at all
and w/ 530hp probably gets you to where yo are going in style and on time!

I bought a Q-port Sport GT new in 2006 mostly because of its looks. I loved the car, even though everyone trashed the sequential transmission. (I have a Ferrari 360, so my expectations weren't very high.) I took a bath selling that car. I've been waiting three full years for this new car and I have to say that I'm disappointed by the pictures. The back is Audi and the front is BMW. I'm sure it's much improved, but what happened to the Pininfarina styling? I'll reserve judgment until I see it in the metal, but I expect I'll be looking elsewhere for my next sedan.
uattroporte
IMO, the only quattroporte that is better looking than the Quattroporte (the outgoing one) is the Rapide. The new Quattroporte does nothing for me, which is a shame. I also fear that Maserati is about to lose its specialness and exclusivity, at least if Sergio Marchionne gets what he wants -- 50,000 per year in sales, Jeep SUVs wearing Maserati badges, etc.
Oh, and I don't care for the looks of the Panamera.

I'm sorry guys, I could have got a pic again today but didn't. It was just too much to focus on it! It is soooooo big it looks like the prior model Quattroporte got drunk one night and took a canal longboat home. The pics in the link above from Cret make it look better than it is because there is nothing to scale it against. It was all I could do not to feel sorry for the people that work for Maserati
I will break through he nausea barrier and get some "good" pics,..just bear with me...
P.S. I just checked; the new Quattroporte is 8 inches longer than the Rapide! WTH!
