Leno drives the Vanquish
Why is a carbon fiber body a downside? It is needed on this car to save weight -- it's already a heavy car.
I like Jay, but I still can't help but focus on his clothes in these videos. Does he wear the same shirt and pants every day, or does he own tons of the same shirts/pants? It's really a bit odd.

Just to me, for this street Aston, all carbon fiber is over the top. Sure it makes it lighter, but why not aluminum to reduce the costs some, not to mention if it ever required body repairs. The later suspect needs to go back to Aston for replacements. That all said, the car is awesome.
Jay had mentioned he buys his work clothes by the cases, same attire for almost 20 years: blue jeans, blue work shirt and black lace-up work boots. He won't change, as he is not a big fan of that type of change, as it works well for him.
Of course, the Vanquish has always been the top of the line, the CF should be exclusive to the One-77, as it is really one of a kind and will always sustain its pure uniqueness. Not so much for the new Vanquish. When I hear about the Carrera GT's that get damage to their CF, it is a nightmare to repair, many need to go back to the factory for repair, so suspect same for the Vanquish.
Your paying for the aural Aston beauty; a very cool growl on startup and a thrill to redline can almost make you forget that Ferrari’s V12 GT, or Bentley GT being even faster, while the Bentley GT is more comfortable as a touring car and about 80K less. That all said, if I really wanted a V12 in that ~ price range, I probably pursue the Vanquish more. However the low non adjustable passenger seat for shorter folks would be a concern, along with the CF if the car was a daily type driver and keeper.
To each his own, it is just my opinion and you and others are entitled to your own. It is fun discussing our opinions.
The vanq has gotten the blessings of Jay "the Chin" Leno! now all they need is rappers to put it on rap videos to promote sales
c'mon Aston, enough with the fake smiles, do what Porsche does and go out and win some races, get some true enthusiast buyers and manufacturer's championship if you dare!

I get bored with brands using celebs (even petrol head ones) to "place" a product.
Jay & James Martin (UK chef petrol head) and a few others have all recently pitched in on the new Vanquish. Very often nice and glossy but poorly researched and not too informative. Mr Martin claims the Vanquish "tub" is CF - none of the VH cars are

I would be nice to have some real world credibility for the 100th year
Marek Reichman (AM Design Director) has said the use of CF in the Vanquish was not for weight saving but to enable structures like the rear spoiler.
