In my MY 12 V8VS, fuse 22 is a 20amp fuse, fuse 15 is a 5 amp fuse. The owner's manual says the exhaust bypass is fuse 22. Can someone confirm whether the fuse to pull is a 20A or 5A fuse?

Fyi, I didn't notice a big difference when I pulled fuse 22 (or fuse 15). Maybe the sport exhaust on the S makes the difference less apparent?

I'm not sure which year but they changed the fuse so it can't be pulled any more. The fuse now controls more than the bypass valves. I could be wrong about this or thinking about a different car.

MY11 onwards should be fuse 15 and I believe this applies to the V8VS too. You are correct, fuse 15 is a 5A but it does the same job as the 20A used to in the old 22 position. It made almost no difference to mine until I actually got the car under load, notable improvement below 4k rpm.

Karl-Franz says that the valve is always open anyway at start up and idle and so pulling the fuse doesn't make any difference there until you get the rev's up past idle some when the valve would normally close. I have never heard anything about 22 or 15 having anything else on that circuit though.

I have a 2013 Vantage V8 and removing fuse 15 did the trick. It's like night and day.

2011 N420 (has sport exhaust). Fuse 15 even though the manual says 22. Essentially drive it through the rev range and see if theres a noticeable change at 3k (the n420 opens at 3k). If there is a difference instead of a linear increase in noise then the valve is closing/opening. Pulling fuse 15 leaves it always open for me.

How about for a 2007 V8V? Since it is an earlier model is it the 22 then?

^^ or, you could just disconnect the vacuum lines on either side of the resonator? I've done it to both. My AMs.....

Nope they simply moved it to 15 around about MY12
There has never been anything but the vac pump on 22 or 15

+1 it changed on the Vantage for the 11MY, the manual still states ( boot ) fuse 22 but it is in fact now 15.... Presumably they changed it in an attempt to stop us all pulling the fuse

Hi there! I saw your post on the exhaust valve. I just got a 2013 Vantage V8. I'm about to pull the Fuse 15. I saw the fuse 15 (25A) was for the Starter motor solenoid. Is this the one? I'm nervous that I will F up the car.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Manton

Thanks Mikey. But there is no fuse 15 in the 2013. It's indicated as "not available" and I looked and there is nothing there.
