Anyone in NC? PPI/drive-by query
Hi all;
As a frequent lurker and a yet-to-be owner, I was wondering if there was advice from this forum on buying from a dealership cross country. I'm in Orange County and the car is in North Carolina. Maybe someone in the Raleigh area would be nice enough to give it a once over? Or to recommend a PPI mechanic in that area? Is it a stay away because of the mileage? Carfax seems good. Here's the link:

Thanks.

Mileage shouldn't be an issue; at least it's been driven 5K miles a year. Probably no warranty left though. Service history & PPI for sure.
Kestrel Tan usually looks a lot more orange & darker than those pictures -- that might be Sahara Tan (which I prefer). Looks good with those exterior colors.

Hello Richard,
You are in luck! I've looked at this car several times but couldn't get past the interior color. I have not driven the vehicle or interacted with sales folks. Beware it came from auction so the clutch condition is unknown. Leith had this at the Porsche dealership in Cary then moved it to the Maserati store since it wasn't selling. I believe the asking price was $89k originally. The paint & interior are in great shape. However, the interior color is not for me. The online pictures are a good representation of the actual color - it is not a light sand but rather a darker with some orange. I suppose at the right price anyone could stomach the color.
I ended up pulling the trigger on a Toro Red last weekend. Can't wait to pick it up.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Matthew;
Lucky for me you hate the interior, I think it's fantastic. I may be James May without the Bisto at this point. I had contacted the Porsche dealership about the car but was unable to purchase at that time and I was surprised to see it pop up again. After looking at a lot of V8Vs it does seem there are a lot of odd tastes out there (there was a tan with cream inserts that was alarming).
Now I'm questioning the value of a PPI, would that give me any info on clutch? I'll exhaust the local possibilities (local dealership in Newport has a couple he says haven't made it to the website yet).

Wow, nice find. i like the interior color as well. It is similar to the interior color of my Cayenne Turbo. I have purchased several cars from dealers across the country and I recommend an independent PPI. The cars I bought looked as good as they did in the pictures. Good luck. I'm looking as well but have not decided between a V8VS or a DB9.
I actually sat in that car a few weeks ago while looking it over. I was going to take it for a test drive but I drove their Range Rover Sport instead. Some one took it for a test drive as I was leaving.
Nice car. IMHO the interior is a little brighter (more orange?) in person then it looks like in the pictures. The car looked clean but I didn't REALLY look it over.
Good luck!

Wash DC dealer has one with same color combo, year, mileage. I took another look while picking up up mine - I guess it looks okay. I wish the leather was more light sand.
Definitely go for PPI. Not sure if you could work something out with them sending the car to ForeignCarsItalia.

My post count is too low to PM - I'm in the market primarily for a roadster. In a twist, the exact car resurfaced at a Florida AM dealer for $10K more. It's like they're trying to make it harder on me. At least it can't get any further away geographically
There have been some local possibilities (one with an.....interesting color combination). Another one is much newer and an S, going to have to do some more research on that one.
