Anyway, if you get a 4.3L, my suggestion is right off the bat: Springs, spacers, and alignment, and high-flow cats. Those will get you off to a great start and give you most for your money.

Do you know if the ECU upgrade will help with the fuel consumption. Not looking to make this thing a Prius but when I was looking at a XKR-S and it has better mileage, something seems off.

Love the car. I would do the new 2011 bumper if it was me in your situation. Love the look of the newer bumper better.

Yes, the tune should help with fuel consumption. From the factory, Vantages run very rich (I think all AM's do, but I haven't looked into the others myself). Even with the AM Power Pack tune, it's still very rich. An aftermarket tune will lean this out, so you should see some MPG improvements.

I've thought about the front bumper, but it's not too high up on my list of priorities. I'd rather do some in-depth engine work before messing with the body!

Has anyone tried doing a super charger or turbo's? I am a NA fan but am always impressed with those who boost a non factory boosted car.

I got the 1M to take care of the boost fix.

Do you know of any ways to also put the car on a diet tastefully? I would say rear seat delete but the car has non LOL.

How much are the Euro sport seats VS our over protective ones.

Well ok then.

What are the cats on the stock setup? Seems everyone offers a 200cel cat for the car.

On the earlier cars, the 600 cell primaries & 400 cell secondaries are integrated into one unit in the transmission tunnel just after the manifolds. On the later cars, including the 'S', the 600 cell primaries are in the manifolds, and the 400 cell secondaries are in the original location in the tunnel.

hi guys

apologies for my very long absence given that I was the original poster of this thread.

Ive been too busy enjoying the amazing acceleration and sound of my modified V8 vantage.

As a reminder, the velocity package was able to boost BHP by 12.9% and the Torque by 14%. You can find all the Dyno charts etc on Stuart's V8 vantage headers thread.

Have taken out loads of friends, relatives & work colleagues out in the modified Vantage and they have all loved it. 2 of those work colleagues (both who had been in the car prior to modification) stated that the increase in acceleration was very, very noticeable. They also love the sound (Velocity sports exhaust+ 200 cell cats).

Anyway, I have achieved what I set out to do. Namely solve the acceleration issue with my vantage, improve the sound immensely, and hopefully provide myself with a car I will be happy to keep for a few years!!! (I only kept my porsche C2s for 1 year & maserati GTS for 6 months)

No well proven SC kits on the market as yet which is why I went the 5.0 GT4 motor route
Putting them on a diet isn't easy as AM have a habit of used bloody great chunks of metal for things like the seat belt guides
The light weight seats are £11k GBP from a dealer
I specced them new on my car thankfully
They are based on Recaro CF race seats so you could retrim a set from them?

It was around the time of the SP10 launch as that was the start of manual S's
