V8 vantage 4.3 performance upgrade
V8 vantage 4.3 performance upgrade
Hi Guys
New user here. Bought a MY2007 V8 vantage a few months back and have really enjoyed the experience so far.
Used to have a 997 C2S & a Maserati GTS, but think the Aston is definitely the best looking and maybe even the most enjoyable to drive.
The only thing it lacks as many have stated previously is that extra punch in its acceleration. Thus next week, courtesy of velocityap & Stuart Dickinson, I am going for the performance mod upgrade package including ECU/CATS/Filters/sports exhaust/Headers!!!
I'm sure this type of stuff, on the old 4.3 v8 vantage has been done many time before and documented here, but thought people who have recently bought the 4.3 may find it interesting.
I will be posting before & after dynos & documenting the feel of the car too.
Im based in the UK, and this whole thing started because I became frustrated with the prices charged by the dominant local Aston aftermarket specialist and thus came across Stuart, who in conjunction with a UK specialist, will be getting my car modded up next week at very competitive rate.
Anyway looking forward to posting my results next week. In the meantime if anyone has any tips on this process or would like to share how modding their own 4.3 v8 vantage went, how much bhp/torque etc they achieved, please feel free to share!!!

Welcome to 6speed scotpak, I've been watching your threads on PH with interest & for entertainment value (since I have a DB9). Since BR won't sell to owners over here I think you'll find this forum more receptive to alternatives.
Thank YVR!
Yes, the Aston UK guys on pistonheads are very conservative in taste, and sometimes a tad stuffy!
They will probably be horrified to know that I have also bought HRE P40SC wheels for my Aston that should arrive in 5 weeks time. They have a gloss charcoal finish which I think will go well with my Tungsten Vantage!!
Where did you order your wheels from?

Will definitely be as comprehensive as possible with the results and pics.
The loose cash was made possible as I bought a very well maintained but also much depreciated example. Paid £35k or $52k for the car thus dont feel too guilty in spending some cash on these mods/wheels.

May be difficult as the rolling road/dyno facility is at a 3rd party co. located quite far away from where the work will be done.
I think the plan is to take the car to this 3rd party facility, do the pre-dyno, take car to garage, do the mods, and then to go back to the 3rd party for a post dyno.
Hopefully Stuart will be able to add some useful details post results so people have an idea of the breakdown, given that he has done a huge no. of cars previously.
That's unfortunate, you won't be able to tell how each modification affects power & torque independently. It's very important you do it after each modification as it will tell you much more about the cars progress versus just one before and one final dyno (which is still better than nothing of course). See if Stuart can arrange for a nearby dyno to do before/after on every mod.

Thanks for your input. Have emailed Stuart. Hopefully this is do-able!
