Navigation Display on Vantage V8 MY2007

Hello to all,
I have a v8 vantage of 2007, and I wonder how I can solve a problem. The navigation display does not open fully, it remains oblique. To make it more visible I have to fix it manually.
Can you help me?
Thanks!

I know that there is some kind of AM service bulletin to replace the plastic gears which rotate the screen upwards since they can fail/strip or something like that. I may have a copy....I'll check.

Reading your file, i understand that this kit is useful for display screen that don't move/open.
But my screen run good and it opens, but The problem is that it not open fully, and only if I follow it with my hand it open full.

How can I solve this problem?

whats it cost for the dealer to do this repair. someone reached over and shut it manually. there was little or no resistance, so it didn't seem like it should break it, but it did.

My dealer charged one hour labour to do this.

so, someone reaches up and closes it and its so sensitive that it breaks? seems like a weak design, and an obvious risk.

thanks for the post. got to either try and fix it myself, following the nice instructions, or pay.

Hasn't anyone else had this issue before? Is it a DIY type operation? after looking at the mechanics notes (thank you very much for posting that) it looks a little complicated, but it might be doable. I cant imagine it being so sensitive to someone pushing on it or closing it manually.
Where do you get parts for this, if you deicide to tackle it on your own?

Astonmartinbits.com has the parts (see: navigation display repair kit -- about $16 plus shipping). Or your dealer.

Thanks again. I got the repair kit, but ...
anyone know how the display comes out of the nav control area? the wire keepers come off easy enough, but there are the main pivot points where the screen is attached , that doesn't seem obvious on how it comes apart.

thanks,

mark

If there is one not-so-good "option" on the pre-11/12 AM's it's the so-called NAV system. I leave mine closed and let my smart phone provide voice direction if needed. I understand AM has made improvements. I hope so !
